Is he always seems to pull the hot hand on the mound in a close game & immediately as he does, something bad happens for us.

Not a good move…..McGovern had them on the ropes and they couldn’t touch him…..why take that chance!

Stop defending this man , if he has coaches giving him this kind of stupid advice then we have serious problems dude. Maybe the talent void extends to the coaching staff as well because that decision to pull McGovern was the dumbest thing ever . There is no excuse or defense of that move

I watch MLB and it seems they do the same thing. They are all about match ups. Just leave the man you are watching doing well, in the game, until he is not. Confuses myself.

At least the move allows McGovern to pitch again this weekend. It's not like he brought in Dvorsky either, it was our best reliever by far this year, and everyone has confidence in Mahlstedt's ability to close down games. I think this is mostly a 'hindsight is 20/20' critique, because if McGovern also gave up a homer there, people would be calling Bakich stupid for not pulling him. At some point you have to trust the guys who got you there, and the matchup suggested Mahlstedt should come in. It didn't work, but ultimately that's how baseball works, sometimes with all the odds in your favor, the opponent makes a better play.
