I actually never thought he looked that great in that game. Just had big numbers because we had receivers who could catch his bad passes.
Also in the game before that against BC…
He had that long TD run on the keeper.
But I thought he looked slow as crap on that play…it was just wide open for him.
I still had hopes for him going into 2021. But I was never that convinced he was that good.

I think overall B Bresee was a disappointment but definitely not all his fault with the Mono, Sister, injury, and whatever else that never let him excel.

Dude lit Notre Dame up that day
In his one start against Notre Dame, D.J. Uiagalelei had a standout performance, throwing for 439 yards and 2 touchdowns in a double-overtime loss. Despite the loss, his 439 passing yards were the most ever thrown against the Irish by an opposing quarterback, breaking a record previously held by Carson Palmer.
Until that day I dont believe ND had given up a pass through the air all season

Dude was a star with mental illness. Could have played any sport professionally. He turned down MLB out of HS to play football and was gone after 1 semester. What a shame! Never went back to school nor played sports again.

Yep - 6th RD pick to Buffalo.
Dude was wrecked with injuries early but rebounded enough to get drafted. He's one I would have LOVED to see develop without being hit by the injury bug because I think he could've been an elite LB.

6th round. But only started his final year, albeit for the best defense we’ve ever had.
He was the 2nd ranked LB behind Stephone Anthony, but didn’t have nearly the same impact.

Chad Kelly, despite being a knucklehead, would've probably been pretty good too. I wonder how the program trajectory goes if CK doesn't act up and get kicked off the team.
- Does DW4 get the chance to shine early? Or do we try to RS him?
- If all goes the same and DW goes down with the ACL tear against GT...Does CK come in Chase Brice style and fill in amicably?

Perhaps Burley will have a similar trajectory as Capehart. Developing behind better players but eventually becomes really good.
We just have to see some flashes this year.

XT was just never healthy after his freshman yr until his final year. The Covid got him pretty good and he needed a year to get back into football shape. I thought his final year was underrated. He didn’t develop beyond the speed rush but that was effective at disrupting the pocket without tallying up sacks. Coach Hall really didn’t develop some very talented players that got drafted on raw potential. Murphy and Thomas will play in the NFL for awhile.

Another one that looked as muscular as Rendrick Taylor was an old LB from 1997 recruiting class named Kenzi Ross.
Looking back at that class, it was a pretty good one with Robert Carswell, Woodrow Dantzler, Alex Ardley was a good CB that bumped heads with TBowden, T Zackery, Kyle Young and Will Merritt. Dexter Polite and Crutchfield were good too.

I was at the Georgia Tech game where he suffered the injury. One of his first passes was a thing of beauty.
He floated a ball perfectly to the tight end over the linebacker with a safety behind.
It was 3 players, with ours in the middle. If the pass is not perfect, it's incomplete at best and picked at worst.
You might have thought it was just a completion in a typical drive, but the crowd went absolutely insane, not because of a first down, but because we got a glimpse of that kid's ability.
The play that pretty much ended his career, the DE got around the left tackle, Willy rolled to his right, and just as he was in his throwing motion, the end blasted his arm back. The combination of his forward momentum and the DE tearing his arm backward was devastating.
I tore my right rotator cuff in a diving accident, so I know the pain and how that completely changes how you can use your arm.
