As soon as it left the bat I had flashbacks to the Tyler Colvin walk off over Oral Roberts in the regionals. I am pretty sure both of those balls are still in orbit somewhere.

Quick Michael Johnson story that I never miss an opportunity to miss....
2012 Cape Cod Baseball League is the setting. I try to go to as many games as possible where Clemson players are. That year, Falmouth had a couple Clemson players (Pohle and McGibbon), so I ended up going to a bunch of their games. Pohle was hurt so he wasn't playing much and he came over to say hi one day because I was wearing a Clemson shirt.
We started talking about Clemson, and how Michael Johnson was a coach and I remembered watching him play for the Tigers and the absolute moonshots he used to hit. I was telling a story about one in particular where I swear Johnson hit the ball so high and so far that it cleared the lights in right field. Just then Pohle started laughing and called McGibbon over. Apparently Johnson had told the same story to the players, but they didn't believe him.

I saw MJ clear the batters eye with a home run one time. I swear it looked like it was going to hit the track facility.
I was a student during the Khalil Greene, Jeff Baker, Michael Johnson year and it was amazing to watch the terror in every pitcher's eyes when that part of the lineup came to bat.

THINK KHALIL HIT 27 HR'S HIS SENIOR YEAR? WAS A GREAT COLLEGE BASEBALL PLAYER. I BELIEVE SETH (SAVE,THE BEER) IS NOW, AND WILL PROVE TO BE THE BETTER PLAYER IN THE LONG RUN.

Clemson. Greene put up monstrous numbers in 2002, but that was really a different era in college baseball with the bats. What Beere is doing now is probably more impressive. Greene was also an excellent SS though so you have to consider that.

would've gone 500 feet. I went to a good many games when i was in school in the early 2000s and Michael Johnson is probably the only guy I've seen at Clemson that could hit a ball as hard as Beer did last night. Beer is already a better hitter than Johnson was at any point in his Clemson career though.

I'd add Andy D'Alessio to the list of long bombers. He could flat out knock the #### out of the baseball when he got the pitch he wanted.
