In todays football environment, he could be there four years, one year or he may “de commit” tomorrow. What a sad state of affairs college sports has become.

He's gonna sit for 2 years? Something does not add up. Just one more for Sellers?

Sellers is a remarkable athlete

But his passing needs to take a major step forward to be a first rounder next year. It very well could, but he's nowhere near where other highly mobile QB's like Murray, Vick, DeShawn, Even Hurts were throwing the ball yet.
I'm sure they paid handsomely. Question is why several major programs who may need a QB like Miami weren't offering more. Guy was a 5 star recruit just last year, and just sat a year. Now going to sit 1-2 more?

Sellers is currently like a poor man’s Cam Newton.
Sellers has a good arm and decent accuracy. His decision making is not anything special. His raw speed is inferior to Cam Newton’s.
His scrambling prowess will probably retardant his development as a passer, since it will be hard for the S.Carol8na coaches to risk losing games by calling enough passing plays for him to quickly master the art of QB decision making and to improve his accuracy.
As for the NFL, Sellers’ ability to run will not be as effective as what Cam Newton had done. NFL defenders will be less susceptible to Sellers’ (admittedly impressive) moves, Sellers’ good but not great speed will shorten those runs that went for big plays in college. Sellers’ will not break tackles in the NFL anywhere near what he’s been able to do in college.
If Air Noland shows during practice sessions in college that he’s close to what he’s shown in HS and recruiting services’ camps, then he’ll be ready to go when (of if) he actually puts on the uniform.
How the team chemistry and QB competition evolves could be soap-opera-ish.

There is no soap opera. It’s Seller’s job.

Paying QBS big money to come sit on your bench is a cost many teams are determining isn't worth paying. Now if he was a proven commodity then that's different. However what if SC, or Miami or whoever pays a guy a million to come in and be a backup QB or maybe even possibly compete for a starting job with no real idea if he has what it takes. Then when he leaves after a season they've effectively paid a lot of money for someone that had no impact on the team. Would seem like its better to sign guys who are decently ranked and try to develop them and only go into the portal if they aren't working out and you need a clear starting guy. Otherwise you're basically paying guys seven figures for being a good HS QB, which means absolutely nothing at the collegiate level.

I mean, sellers is an extra running back with average passing skills so he could take the mantle if he’s what people thought he was in HS

He just pulled Ewers on Carolina. He took OSU money never played and took Carolina money and will play sparingly. Then leave.

It’s a great move for Carolina, I liked him as a HS prospect and wish we would have gotten him, but what a weird move for him. Sellers is a stud but I don’t view him as a 3 year college guy, so he’s got probably 2 years left, which means Noland isn’t starting until 2027. Why would he sit around and wait for that?
Side note: Clemson vs South Carolina in 2027 could potentially be Air Noland vs Chris Denson, when’s the last time two lefty QBs faced off against each other?

That would make sense. He probably already has a back room deal with a big money school.

Miami is sitting out there without a QB

They've targeted a few, namely the kid that went to OU. Belichick and the holes still there as well.
No doubt agents are talking

Isn't UofSC already spending $1.5m on Sellers and $1m+ on the freshman DE plus what, $1m+, on Noland? Last year They showed $9.5m for their NIL (Garnet Trust?) What will it be this year?

Yep. I watched him several times in high school and thought he would fit great here. Im stunned he picked the coots. Makes no sense. Also makes me wonder where we turn for a QB in 2026. I dont see a viable option on the current roster.
