Why Don't Former Athletes Contribute OR Advertise for NIL?

Generally, I don't see former collegiate athletes contributing or advertising to NIL, other than a few high profile individuals. In fact, I've never seen a Clemson athlete that turned pro or graduate do anything for our NIL programs (unless they're on staff at CUAD).
Why?
I can't ask you guys to consider donating to the Clemson Corps (www.ClemsonCorps.com) and supporting our Clemson student veterans and future servicemembers without leading the way with my own money and time. Imagine nearly ZERO former Clemson students who served coming back to help the Clemson Corps, when in reality the Clemson Corps is made up of tons of veterans (not all though).
And for those thinking that it's because "they didn't get the money while they were in school," the Clemson Corps didn't exist when most of our members/board were in school. So what's the difference?
I feel like this is something Clemson must fix regarding NIL.... unless there's an underlying reason that I don't know about.

They didn't get the NIL generally. It probably doesn't interest them and they have already paid their dues in their minds.

But isn't there a passion for the school?
The Clemson Corps didn't exist when most of our board were in school (so they got no money).

Maybe they figure others can pay. It's not like they are billionaires. They know the money will come from somewhere. Maybe they do give 10k here and there too.

And paying your dues as other poster says and you didn’t get paid anything. On top of that I have a hard time questioning people’s giving. We have no clue what they prioritize. For instance everyone I check out at a store now they want me to donate something here or there. If I don’t I feel like a jerk. But those people have no idea what I give to.

Most people don't really have the money to donate to others. They should be using that money for their IRA or whatever.

I almost never give to those stores when they ask. I can’t see why I would give my money so that Walgreens can give a donation and get a tax break. Let me just give directly to whatever charity it is.

Better yet they take credit for what customers give half the time. "Walgreens donated over 50 million dollars to charity last year* " What they usually fail to highlight is the fact they gave a tiny fraction compared to the customer base.
*Fictional numbers just to make the point

Former college athletes are in commercials all the time but it is because of their status as a professional. When college players end their eligibility and find a job, their star quickly fades. Advertising companies are interested in current and former professional athletes, not ex college ones.

I'm not sure that they don't. Probably like most individuals, they don't advertise that they are giving to NIL programs.

I think some probably do. They just don't have to announce it and make it about me, me, me look what I did. I prefer that actually.

I have been harping on here for awhile about the former players no longer contributing to IPTAY. We used to have them show up at games and be announced with one of the big checks with their donation amount.
