Maybe Neff already has his man but he isn't available until

next year? Lower buyout on both sides.
I find it humorous that so many people were propelled to suggest the Furman coach after the upset of UVA. His overall record at Furman is very similar to Brownell's record at Wright State. And let's be truthful...did Furman win that game or did UVA lose it? Catching UVA unprepared doesn't make you a great coach. It's a fantastic win and story for Furman but I don't think UVA would lose again if they played Furman 9 more times.

We know what would happen if Clemson played UVa one more time - L.

Seems with us getting beat by VA twice and the last time by 20 pts we did not catch them down as Furman did. What I like about the Furman coach is the way he communicates and handles himself. You can easily tell he can recruit better than Brad as he comes over so much better. Look at what the Wofford coach has done at VA TEC. He would be a big improvement over Brad and be a Dabo type in the way he handles himself. I had much rather sit down with him than Brad and have lunch and that tells you a lot.

And I can't disagree with that because I haven't seen the young man enough to appreciate his personality. I do agree that Brad does not ooze excitement or make me want to follow him into battle. I can say that because I have the personality of a tree stump and am very envious of those "salesmen" among us. I know that was Rick Barnes' talent. He could bend you double in laughter 30 seconds after shaking your hand.

In fairness...unlike VT...

Clemson didn't have to play Miami, Duke and Virginia twice during the regular season.
VT had a SOS ranking in the upper 60's to low 50's while Clemson...well...didn't.

Va Tech beat Louisville at Louisville, just like almost every other team that played Louisville.
Va Tech didn't have 3 quad 4 losses and 2 quad 3 losses at the end of the season (they had 2 Q3 and 1 Q4 loss).
Clemson was 4-4 in Q1 and 3-2 in Q2. Va Tech was 4-7 in Q1 and 2-5 in Q2. They played 5 more Q1/Q2 games than Clemson did. They played Duke twice (split) and UVa twice (split) and Miami twice (lost both).
OTOH, Clemson did beat them twice.

Many of our fans want the next young up and coming coach

and if he's from South Carolina, that gives him even more credibility because he's a "local guy."
Plus, he's not Brad Brownell, and that's enough for many of our miserable fans.

Judge, you need to let us know when you are logging onto the Board so we can stand up. Maybe you should name a bailiff to handle that.

Chris Collins is the only coach I would talk to when that day comes if he has any desire to come back to the ACC.

Brown-L's record at Wright St was not anything like Richey's

Brown-L was 84-45 (65%) at Wright St with one postseason appearance in 4 years (His 1st year).
Bob Richey is 139-54 (72%) at Furman with 3 postseason appearances in 7 years (Including a 2nd Round NCAA appearance in his 7th year).

Yes, Furman won that game. UVa up by 15 at one point. Coach made a change to a 1-3-1 zone defense and that made all the difference. It's called making adjustments, something our coach doesn't do.

This is the most likely and realistic scenario behind the scenes, IMO
