Grady Jarret is 1MIllion times the player Montravious Adams

I remember when we were all upset we didn't get Adams. Well, our own #50 is so much better than him it's not even funny.

nope. I'm judging a guy who was barely a 3* player against a guy who was a unanimous 5*. While Adams is only in his 2nd year he will never be as good as Jarrett. Jarrett was also better in his 2nd season than Adams has been in his.

I agree, but don't fool yourself. Big Mont Adams would have been big to have for next season. Especially with the infinitely better coaching he would have gotten at Clemson

i'm old enough to have seen Stuckey, Jeff Bryant, Buckner, Chester, Fridge, Devane all play. Bryant is the only one I'd put with Jarrett because #99 played every position on the DL and was a constant disruption all over the line of scrimmage. Also had a 12 career in Seattle and 1st round draft choice. Bryant and Stuckey are the only others at DT that played with a similar motor as Grady. Bryant was 6'5" 285, Sutckey was about 6'3" 275, Grady is 6 feet stretched out on a traction table and is so disruptive it's comical. Pure quickness and leverage. I'd bet my next 10 paychecks BV would tell you he's the MVP of the defense and it's not even close. That guy was a 1st team all American that got screwed over by the voters. If you had 11 GJ's on the field on defense it would be borderline cruelty for opponents.

and an even better kid. Over the last several years I have become convinced that by and large the kids we lose to other schools in recruiting usually are the type of kids that we didn't need in the program. Not to say they are all bad kids....not that at all...it's just the type of kid that is not drawn to Clemson's culture and family atmosphere is probably not going to fit in Clemson anyway. They are not all knuckleheads and thugs but they sometimes are a bit too individualistic or selfish to be All In anyway. I wouldn't trade our kids for any in the nation, nor would I trade the staff for any staff.

I saw them both play. I'd take Stuckey and Jeff Bryant over either one of them over the course of a season. GJ has a want to that you cannot teach and you cannot demand of anyone. It is just IN him.

that's high praise for Jarrett. I personally wouldn't want to declare a winner out of that group of three. I certainly don't disagree with anything you said though. Jarrett's desire is off the charts. I think the NFL is going to undervalue him and someone is going to get a freakin' steal.

Stuckey was quick as a cat and one of the first really

strong weight room guys along with our NT back then, Rich Tuten, who is the Denver Broncos strength coach....Stuckey was a nasty ####### too, physical, effort, want to off the charts. Got two rings with the Niners and is a really good guy. Columbia boy who is still all about the Tigers. Bryant? well, probably the most versatile, most athletic DL we have ever had at DT. He actually started at all 4 positions on the DL and on the NC team, I think he even dropped back in coverage at times. He saved the whole NC season with the lateral recovery. 12 years as a starter in Seattle and probably the least credited beast of a player we have ever had in terms of dominance. "Boogie" Bryant and Jeff Davis (the best pure FB player I ever saw at Clemson), and Terry Kinard were the leaders of a ruthless bunch of wild dogs on defense back then. All three are in the Clemson HOF.

those guys were so so good. Bryant was my hero and stuckey is legendary. the thing about Grady is he has to be accounted for on every play - middle, left, right. you can plan for beastly and take him out of play - running away from him helps. but an oc has to recognize gj always. hc's on opposition always talked about #50. he will be biggest loss on d

IMO the best pure FB player on the team hands down

and the best pure FB player since Keith Adams in terms of pure desire. Bryant is my all time favorite Tiger player along with Jeff Davis. Something about those defensive monsters that seem to be on the ball even when double teamed. Stuckey seemed to be in the backfield on every play. Bryant lived in the backfield even when he didn't make the tackle. BV is the right man to get that back for years to come. Keep the athletes coming, teach technique, but demand that they have the want to and the nastiness you cannot teach, otherwise don't recruit them.

all time Tiger great...but totally different NT than GJ

GJ's game is quickness and leverage and effort. Motor for a guy like Fridge was massive size and strength. GJ is a heavyweight wrestler and slices in and disrupts plays. Fridge split a lot of time with Devane because it was hard for him to be in the type of condition to play the whole game, every down. GJ never comes off the field. I love Fridge and always will but my all time Tiger DL would be Jarrett, Stuckey, Bryant, MD Perry with Fridge, Gaines, Chester, off the bench with Vic at OLB.

yep. some team will be very lucky to have him. his technique and ability to gain leverage makes him a possible starter day 1. especially after s and c in nfl. he's that good

been some good ones. but Grady is just so disruptive. never seen anyone like him. he is a game changer. he is main reason Anthony could roam and blow up people. beastly is the man, but Grady was the soul of that d.

That's why you don't excited until a player actually does something for your team...

I saw Watson in one of his games that were televised in high school. He looked amazing. I held off any excitement until his first drive in the UGA game.
Prime example of why not to get too excited before a player steps on campus: willy Korn. His career was derailed by injuries.

CU is much better because of him. He brought so much to the school. Class, grace, intellect and a #### good football player.
