It's a headscratcber but I've seen Kirby do the same thing with Zamir White and Kenny Macintosh. Of course, UGA usually has depth RB. Not sure Clemson does at the moment. An injury to Mafah would be catastrophic for the Tigers.

Depth is the key term there and speed. Mafah does t have the speed of white and McIntosh

Wondered the same? Keep hearing how dynamic Ty Kelly is with the ball, figured we might see him back there since he is not WR1 or WR2.

Not only does it put our primary RB talent in unnecessary risks but he’s not even a breakaway speed type guy that you want returning kicks.
