Storming ICE detention centers sounds kinda insurrectioney to me. Maybe he needs a few years in prison to consider his actions. Im sure the next Dem POTUS would pardon him.

This facility was a privately run detention center which allegedly refused to allow anyone in to inspect the life safety conditions. To no one’s surprise, the facility was overcrowded.
They weren’t letting the Mayor in because they knew he’d put them and have the Governor shut them down.

Apparently members of Congress are allowed to inspect ICE detention facilities, whether on demand or not I can't say. The scuffle broke out when ICE/DHS agents denying entrance to the Mayor for the second time put hands in him to escort him away. Then certain Congress persons and their aides tried to liberate the Mayor and they jostled/grabbed ICE/DHS agents in the process. I got this from a poorly written article by Politico.

Yeah, ummm, nobody stormed anything. He was waiting outside with protesters; he was supposed to get a tour of the facility. He was whisked off to another federal building and detained.

From your link:
“Baraka was attempting to join a scheduled tour of the facility being taken by three of New Jersey’s congressional delegation, Reps. Robert Menendez, LaMonica McIver, and Bonnie Watson Coleman. when he was taken into custody, The Associated Press reports. An argument arose when federal officials blocked his entry, prompting Baraka to attempt to enter through a side gate.”
He was denied entry at one of the (primary?) entry points. He then, apparently in his own, attempted to get by the ICE guards by trying a side entrance. That’s a tried and true recipe for getting detained by security personnel. Poof! He got detained.
Not quite the same as just waiting outside of the facility after being denied entry, and then being whisked off to another detention facility.

I did.
The Newark mayor was legally denied entry to the facility by ICE. (Congressional reps, on the other hand, are legally entitled to enter ICE facilities.)
ICE had to physically restrain the mayor from entering and breaking the law in a more emphatic way. Then, the mayor tried to get around ICE and enter (again, unlawfully) via another entrance.
What happened to the on-again / off-again leftist mantra ‘the law needs to be applied equally’? It must be in the ‘off mode’ as long as the Newark mayor is involved.

right he was going to break into a federal detention center, walk up to the door, turn the knob, and let himself in. Anyway, that is a far cry from storming. And even if he did try to use a side gate, he was supposed to be there.

and I have dealt with DHS before, they have always been dcks. 12 years ago I got detained for operating a LIDAR scanner, they ziptied me until the head of security was called over and he was like WT>TF, Johnny Genius Gbage was convinced I was operating a laser guidance system when I was laser scanning a movie set. There were important people around, but this guy thought he caught the Atlanta Park Bomber and I got to play Richard Jewell for 1/2 an hour, despite the credentials I was wearing around my neck.

Does the video show us from the first moment he arrived there? Or just a tidbit?
The one I clicked on looks like just a tidbit
