Why are SEC fans so arrogant?

Had the displeasure of being in a group on the golf course last week and one of them was an Auburn ####. He didn't like my golf bag or clubs. My bag was Clemson and had a tiger paw decal.on my driver. He started some crap and I tried to.ignore him but he just kept on. Started talking about Holtz and I lost it at that point. Finally had to tell him to shut the **** up. The other guys started to get on his ####, after he had me so po'd that when we got to the next tee and cranked one over 300 yards they told him to shut up before I put a hurting on them with drives like that. (no I don't hit them that far), but was po'd. Seems like I continually run into SEC idiots. Those type makes you hate all of them.

who won the last 2 times Auburn and Clemson played, and what was the ONLY team that almost could have ruined their most recent National Championship with Newton, if there hadn't have been a missed FG in OT by the 2014 NFL rookie kicking record holder?

Auburn had to have luck as well. Clemson was not the only team to nearly beat them. Don't forget about 'Bama up 21-0 only to lose 27-28.

And those Conferencialists in thet SEC footprint are still clinging to the past , like the coots do . Last year doesn't matter . SEC hasn't won the CFBNC in over 2 and a half years now . Last year they had no rep in the game at all . They have a lot of wannabes in that fan base . A lot .

that "player ###" is too small for an SEC running back! He needs more weight to be an SEC running back...I was like, I didn't know SEC was a team!
It's hilarious how they think they are great just because they are in SEC.

I had a Sooner fan next to me tell me at the RA Bowl
Aug 30, 2015, 11:47 AM
|
|
tell me this:
"SEC fans see it this way, the SEC is nothing more than a 13 team excuse. They have always been arrogant fans, but Espn has hammered this way of thinking into them and made them intolerable at a whole new level. 2014 was the beginning of the 'big fall' for the SEC." He went on to say, "Now that there is a playoff and they actually need to EARN a spot in the natty game, we are going to see less of them(SEC teams) in future games for all the marbles."
I then shook Boomer Sooner's hand in 100% agreement.

Bama, Auburn, LSU, UF,UGA and UT fans don't bother me that much...They did all the work to make the SEC what it is and deserve a certain level of respect...It's fans of all the other schools that annoy me...They're just a bunch of freeloaders that fail to realize they are little more than sacrificial lambs.

There is a fan base in the SEC that is a classy bunch:

I have a few Vandy friends and colleagues. For them to have been in the pit of the SEC for so long, they are REALLY classy and don't suck the hind teat or ride the coattails of the SEC. The Vandy fans I know pull for Vandy and could care less about conference affiliation. They NEVER make SEC-esque excuses either. At least not to me.
Looking at you Coots and UK fans.......Learn something from the Vandy fan base and accept who you are.

Question for you Clemson guys, do Coot fans go to your home and bowl games dressed head to toe their team colors and openly root for the other team? It happens to us with sUcK fans all the time and I was wondering if it was the same with you.

There were a few coots that went to our Chick Fil A Bowl game vs LSU wearing "USC for LSU" T-shirts.
As far as wearing coot colors and pulling for our foes in Death Valley, I've personally never seen it. Coots are not that brave. I'm sure they dress in our opponents colors and come though.
Btw Cardinal fan, BEAT THE HE!! out of Auburn! PLEASE. I'm sure the rest of Clemson Tiger nation would love to see that as well!!!!

They do it all the time. Last year they were spotted at all of our away games including Notre Dame, Clemson, and of course Georgia for the bowl. There was a group that were in plain clothes when FSU came to our place, and waited till FSU took the lead and shed their cloths to uncover their Walmart best blues underneath. They even started leading the noles in the chop chant when the game was winding down. They are a sad bunch, and it makes no sense that they would troll our program like they do.
As for Auburn and this year in general, our team is very raw. I'm not sure we will really know what we've got until well into the season. We lost a lot of talent to the NFL but we had some good transfers and JUCO's come in to plug areas of need. We have high hopes and should give Auburn He!! As you say.

and that is hands down the worst fan base I've had the misfortune of interacting with. Every group has some bad apples, but Kentucky was 100% ########. Winning, losing, didn't matter.

They're really not arrogant, they just have a sugar daddy (espn) that gives them a built-in excuse for failure. That network has a huge vested interest in that conference & gives more blah-blah-blah bull crap hype about it than they report about almost anything else. The way the sec is made out you'd think they play on 150yd fields and a yard=5 feet, the defenses play with 15 players (except when the offenses score, then they play with 15), and every player that's recruited into that conference has no less than a 6-7 star rating. And then the coaches are so superior... I guess the NFL didn't realize just who Saban & Spurrier are. Now, look at the FIRST year of the CFP. What happened to the mighty sec champion when put in position to actually have to PLAY for a NC?? Heck, just look at what happened to the entire west division in the bowl games. No, no, the poor sec fans aren't really arrogant, the poor chaps are just greatly misinformed & easily misguided by the hype from their bed partner. Just give it a couple more years, we won't have to listen to anything else from them but their past memories of the BCS era & their excuses for why they're just another conference.

The Coots are obnoxious. I know a lot of UGA, Auburn, and Alabama fans that are some of the nicest people you would ever meet. I also know some very bad UGA fans. FSU and Boston College fans are in my opinion as bad as any SEC fans, Coots included in comparison. I guess all schools have their fair share of jack #####.
