Ok, I RARELY say this, but this man needs to be gone. Gone before the first pitch next game imo, but definitely after the last out of the season, and here us why I believe it. The losses I can live with even though he has clearly been trending downwards. Ok, maybe he rights the ship. But he just committed what is to me an unforgivable coaching error; he blamed his players, specifically pitching for losses. Why does that P#$s me off? What would Dabo have said after a tough loss, or Saban, or any high quality coach of ANY student athlete? "WE as coaches need to coach them up better/We need to put them in a better position to win, etc, Not the crap he just uttered. I get it, it probably IS on the players in these situations, but good coaches DONT throw their players under the bus, PERIOD. Not at the non-pro level at least. Just my .02 cents and I'm not the AD, but this was the final straw to me.. Pack your bag. Rant over. Go Tigers!

Kind of like a basketball coach always saying “we just didn’t make shots...”

After Friday’s game Lee admitted his team is poor at hitting to all fields and not trying to always pull sliders and outside pitches. For us that was not anything we haven’t known for several years.
Now he admits the Tiger pitchers are unable to deliver a quality pitch with two strikes. Again nothing we haven’t been frustrated watching all season. Our young pitchers have live arms but Coach See has some with terrible mechanics right now. Did you pay attention to the pitches that were five feet above and beyond the hitter? The biggest problem is that none of them have decent command of two or more pitch types. Hence the batting practice that occurs with two strikes. Sharpe has the tools but injury has hampered him.
This is the state of Tiger baseball. A major return to the fundamentals of hitting and pitching is needed. I’ll leave fielding and base running for another time. I think they have some talented younger players but their development is sorely lacking. At this point I have no idea what next season will bring. Many thought this year was possibly Lee’s most talented team at Clemson. It sure didn’t turn out that way. Injuries were a factor, but that’s when good fall development of the younger players is supposed to help. I think you can see what I’m getting at.

Yup a very passive aggressive way of blaming the players. That’s why I can’t stand Brownlee, he never owns it. Reality is it’s his responsibility to find players who can make baskets. Can you imagine Dabo saying we lost because “the receivers just can’t catch the ball”.

What's amazing is that in year 6 Monte is having a rebuilding year instead of reloading but no he has all these 27 Freshmen in the lineup.

Did Monte really say, “We did enough offensively.”? Are you serious Clark?!
The hitting, the pitching, the game time decisions, the development of these players all rest on him and his coaching staff.

Exactly. I'm not a "Fire Coach X" guy generally as it usually tends to become obvious. It was obvious that Tommy Bowden had hit his plateau, and some of our basketball coaches just seemed like mediocre level coaches at best, fit for MAC or AAC maybe, but Monte took over a really solid, historically good program with good support and funding. And is driving it downward. I still kept mostly silent until his last comments. Now, dude can pack his stuff and move him and his goatee on to somewhere like Florida Atlantic or Rice... I'm over him.

Just go ahead and pull the plug. Not worth watching this team get their ##### handed to them yet again. Regroup and try again next year.

“Appeared to be a lock” when they had a high 40s rpi and were basically among the last four teams in by the projections seems a bit of a stretch.

May have seemed insignificant but yesterday's game was crucial. We dropped all the way down to 61 rpi with yesterday sweep. We're actually in a pod we can win. With yesterday's loss, we need to play in ACC championship game. Win yesterday and we'd have gotten in by just winning our pod.
Loss to quad 4 x coot coach hurt us bad. Perhaps if caden had pitched that game, the outcome may have been different.

Just pointing out that at no point were we a “lock” for the tournament. And we could still make it but it’s highly improbable. The news/editorial side of this site appears to want to prop up Monte Lee in a way they certainly didn’t do for Jack.
