But how did we open as a -4 favorite? What am I missing? I know Wake doesn't have a great rushing defense, but we haven't effectively moved the ball down the field in the passing game all season, and it seems like DJ's knee is making the Offense even more stale by taking away his VERY LIMITED run game. I just don't see us being able to score with them.

Wake averages like 44 our defense typically holds opponents to about half their average. They are giving up 29 we are scoring 24 a game. 24-24 on a neutral field + nations longest home winning streak= 28-24 Clemson. That’s about where the line is.

That post makes too much sense. That is the most logical thing I've read on here in a long time. Either you know your stuff or you are a salesman.

They won't score nearly as easy on our defense.
Not saying they won't move the ball, possibly 3 TD's, but our D will keep us in the game if the offense can move the ball & score.

I think Wake and Pitt are very similar on Offense. I don’t know if we can hold wake under 24 and I honestly don’t know if we can score more than 24. I’m super interested to see how it’s gonna play out. I mean it’s kind of bitter sweet honestly. Going and whooping everybody’s ### is fun, but it honestly makes the season kind of boring.

The biggest thing you are missing is the point of the spread. The spread has nothing to do with who Vegas thinks is gonna win the game as they could care less. The spread is used to get an equal amount of money bet on each team. Since Vegas gets 10% then they automatically win. So WF appears to be the better team this year but they have a swiss cheese D and their name carries little hubris. Clemson has an awesome D with a dysfunctional O but the Clemson name still has clout. So in order to over come the image/impression the average degenerate gambler has of each team they had to make Clemson the fav so folks would bet on WF. Frankly i expect a 31-28 type of game with Clemson on top way to close for comfort IMO

In case you missed it, teams are having a hard time scoring against us. I imagine wake may get in the endzone a few times, but will it be enough given how poor their defense is?

pretty miraculous (especially FSU). I think it's safe to say that Vegas has been either over-rating us or just inflating our lines all year for some reason.
Like most of our lines this year, it will probably get bet down towards Wake.
