help

Jul 13, 2022, 1:51 PM

This time of year birds in this area prefer what Nature has, so there is less activity at yard feeders.
In a year I go through a lot of bird food.

Today was in Seneca and dropped in Tractor Supply for some sunflower seed. I generally buy 4 or 5 of the 40# bags (they used to be 50#). The price changes during a year, and I stock up when it is low $16-19.
It was $33. W TF ? I am not yet out so had to pass on that.

My Bride complains every time she shops. She said yesterday she spent $200 at Ingles, and the food would almost fit in her purse.

I may have to unretire. Does anyone know if there is a job market for older super heroes?

I would suggest growing sunflowers.

There are some huge fields just down the road from me. I guess it would be wrong to raid them after dark.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

I think the critters are out to get me Tug, the Saturday before the 4th I had went grocery shopping to get meat to grill, got out of my suv around noonish with a handful of groceries when a trash panda came out from the other suv and bowed up at me and started walking toward me. After watching its behavior for a while, shaking, passing out, couldn’t climb a tree, me and my neighbor from Jerzy decided it needed to go. So I took out the 20 gauge. Didn’t want to but always been taught if you see those things out in daylight something is wrong with it. And last night I’m taking out the trash I walk out into my carport and about stepped on a possum, idk who was scared more me or him. I’ll ask him if I see him again, then this afternoon I decided to finally take some yard debris off to the landfill and what do you know lucky DLW here finds another yellow jacket nest. I’ll take care of them tonight. Probably gonna end up being gored by a water Buffalo in my driveway by the end the month lol.

I’d upgrade to Spanx. More mystery left within.

Don't even ask me what a tank of gas cost these days.
I feel for folks who have to commute to work, or my buddy LBB who likes to travel around.

I’m headed to Rural King this evening (Tractor Supply too uppity for me).

Will report back on Midwest sunflower seed prices because you didn’t ask.

I am sure the price increase will be blamed on Covid, like

Jul 13, 2022, 4:30 PM

everything else is. While some of that may be true, it is also likely that greedy manufacturers or resale merchants are taking advantage of the situation to gouge customers.

I experienced the same thing at Tractor Supply last week. I was pretty shocked. I had to decide if I wanted to feed the birds or my wife. Not going to tell you.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Went to Tractor Supply, grabbed a 40 lb bag of sunflower seeds, got to the checkout and it was $32 + tax. I was expecting about $18 to $20. #### Putin and Russia.
