Maybe it's getting late, but I'm watching video of Va Tech jamming old Metallica, not even a song I ever loved, but it fits, and the crowd is jacked.

Like Bama fans ratcheting up to stuff the opponent's Offense to AC DC's Hell's Bell's, Enter Sandman just starts the show off right. Yes. It rocks. Not opposed to some hard rock or rock n'soul. But it's gotta rock! It's gotta pump the crowd. It's gotta be something the song's writer/artist is behind.
I figure Neff and administration have enough on their plate right now, but what are your thoughts Tiger Nation? I just believe sometimes Tiger Rag could use a little more juice and horsepower. Not go away or diminished ... just be supplemented by a rocker we can also make our own!
Some rockers are great that could just not be embraced due to language ... some for other reasons. I think we can rule out Clapton/Cocaine. 1st thought was U2/It's a Beautiful Day. But then I thought we need a lead-in/build-up like Enter Sandman or Hell's Bell's. So I'm thinking The Who/Eminence Front works well. Work in progress. Any thoughts? Recommendations? Yes/Roundabouts? I’ve always enjoyed 81,500 singing “we will, we will ROCK YOU!” in unison at big night games. Electric when the music cuts. First time I remember it was vs FSU when McDaniel ROCKED Christian Ponder on the INT return. 2009 if I’m not mistaken

During a pregame conversation- I will take 100% credit for asking Jon Seketa to play that song, on that night in that exact situation- should it occur during the game. But did he mention me the following morning on the Dan Patrick show? - No!

I know, it was supposed to be derogatory towards my Tigers, but when something is funny, it is funny.

I would like to have something more upbeat along with the traditional songs. I think Va Tech’s is great. Too bad their team isn’t what it used to be. And I love eminence front also. I’ve heard it on TV football broadcasts before as a lead in from commercials. “Who are you”by The Who could be good. It’s not one of my faves but would be a good phrase directed at the opposing team. Roundabout is also a song that I’ve always liked.

Dabo said a very long time ago his aim was not to be like other schools. Dabo said be the school others wanted to be like. I like that sentiment.
We do not need a live Tiger.
We do not need to erect statues around the stadium.
We do not need to have a black out.
We do not need to have a white out.
We do not need to stop the fans from going on the field after the game.
We do not need a goofy band like Virginia who stole the idea from Stanford.
We do not need new, radical, odd, strange or awful looking different uniform EVER.
We do not need a Clemson Anthem.
Finally we should NEVER copy anything at all from Virginia Tech. Beamer was the best coach VT ever had
and he left Virginia Tech with a losing record to Clemson.
If the crowd needs music to get amped up for a ball game, the crowd is a bad one.If we do play music to wake the crowd up, WE WILL ROCK YOU would do nicely for big games.

I love the song by Three Doors Down called Kryptonite. I think if it were rewritten with a slightly different spin, and with the words Tiger Stripes instead of Kryptonite that could possibly work. All I know is that when that song comes on the radio in my car I have to resist the urge to press down on the gas pedal more. It just gives me a surge of adrenaline.
