Let's be honest for a second

While Jackson is putting up video game-like numbers, FSU is the only real threat within the conference for Clemson. We will beat UL...again, and our defense will make Jackson look pedestrian with fundamental defense and solid tackling.
Jackson will have to actually complete tightly contested throws against our defense to win and I just don't see him out-deuling Watson through the air. Venables will stack the box and bring exotic looks and this read-option attack will struggle.
I wouldn't be surprised to see us beat UL by double digits as they get behind early and have to rely on a shaky passing attack to get back in the game, forcing Jackson into a couple of turnovers through the air.

YES! They are doing that thing we used to do before VB when we would swipe instead of wrap. If they wrapped they would have a different game now.

Jimbo play-calling and QB coaching for two, game in Tally for three, and Francois can actually throw the ball going off of the Ole Miss game.
Don't let two games against weaker competition fool you, FSU will beat UL by double digits when they face off.

He seems to be a solid player but Syracuse isn't the type of team to guage him. Wait til he plays us or FSU and then we will know.

If Syracuse knew how to defend the read option and tackle they would be in the lead. Lamar Jackson isn't going to be able to take off running with Farrell, Watkins, Big Dex, and Wilkins coming after him. We beat Louisville by 2 TDs on October 1st.

against anybody, including us and FSU. The key is minimizing his impact. For instance, I don't see our DEs consistently losing contain against a mediocre LU line, nor FSUs for that matter. Question is, will LBs be able to make a play on an unpredictable guy?
Jackson is at best, a two read guy right now. That's not to say he can't improve, but it's rare for a college QB to have that skill set anyway. Chaos is the enemy for QBs like Jackson, because his base instinct is to tuck it and run. FSU and anybody who plays them will have to scheme his runs out of it. Which means, a lot of man coverage, and a long day for the LBs that have to cover space.

In our 2 match ups, we were fortunate to win. Not lucky, but fortunate. D and ST were the difference each year. Why would this year be the year we won by double digits?
