This play still gets me upset. Clearly the ND defender was trying to take TL out of the game but how is that not an ejection?

It was a late hit and got a flag. Not much more you can do there. I am also wanting to protect our QB but this is football and guys will get hit every once in a while.

I do understand your feelings on this one though.

looked more like a targeting to me, as well as the hit on the receiver at the other end of the play. I thought it could have been two targetings on one play. The hit on =Trevor was malicious. Trevor had already delivered the ball , ND player was a few steps away when he saw it delivered, and then he planted his foot and went for it. . Flat out dirty..

IMO he should have been ejected. That wasn't just a late hit. It was a late late late hit.
The ball had been gone for a while when he made the hit and he knew it.
It was also a vicious hit against a defenseless player.
That wasn't just dirty. It was Alabama style dirty.
There should be more than just a 15 yard penalty for that.

He could have and should have been ejected under the defenseless player (Rule 2-27-14). The ref just didn't call it. Also the no call on Renfrow qualified under this rule also.
