Is listed as the “passing game coordinator” along with being TE coach on the website. A lot of people are talking about Grisham and Riley… what about him?

He’s a part of the friends and family package of Dabo. What about Carter Thomansin ? How did he get a job with Clemson ?

How exactly was Kyle a friends and family hire. He was hired as an analyst from one of the better high school programs in the state. He must have done well and was promoted. No family ties that I ever heard from. In high school his offenses scored lots of points. I am more inclined to think Dabo keeps up with what is going on with high school coaches and players seeing they are out recruiting them.

And so it is not hard to imagine that he might become friends with someone who he values as a good coach. That's a huge part of how he finds and hires people. It has gone really well a lot of times and it has gone poorly with others, but merely knowing someone before you hire them and having a relationship does not mean that is the only reason one got hired.

Yes Kyle was a great high school at Northwestern High School here in Rock Hill and I went to a state high school championship that they won when he was the head coach. I do know that he has some extended family that live in the Seneca area.

I agree, Riley certainly has not lived up to anywhere close to his billing. However, lets get pragmatic, the QB he has to work with is not very good. It is obvious to me after that debacle of a performance Saturday that our QB room is awful. I say this because, IMO, any other coach in America would have brought in the back up at least for a series or two to try and let the starter calm down and
just watch for a few. I stated this yesterday and I will again. Dabo HAS TO go to the portal for QB1 in the off season, or we will have at least another year after this with the same offensive woes.

TE was actually one of the few bright spots. 3 for 26 yards. 2nd in yardage behind Williams. He did have some miscues as well. The one hander was big time.

I am actually going to say it. I think Brenny could have been a mega-star, and we wasted/wasting such great talent… and he’s about to be done with his career… but what has he done the past 4 years - catching wise. Yes, that one handed catch was pretty sick not going to lie. But we hear again and again about this TE room as well. I’m almost, at this point, going to tune off the preseason talk until I see action.

Kyle Richardson is all mouth! He loves to jump all over the chance to talk big when he actually gets interviewed. Pretty sure he offers almost nothing to the staff. Kyle Richardson, Tyler Grisham, Goodwin, and Thomas Austin are hires that NO other perennial power team even considers interviewing

That is the one coach I know is fair game to mention as well — Coach Spiller. I’m torn about it of course. I hate how Dabo puts us in awkward positions to possibly have to “let go,” “fire” a Clemson legend….

Senior offensive analyst 2016-2021. Got promoted to his current position in 2022. Was director of player development 2020-2021 as well. Don’t really have too much of an opinion on the guy. Not sure how much of the passing he’s actually coordinating.
