Kelly Bryant needs to be backup now

It's all good to give Nick some minutes against a team like App State and Wofford, but it's time. Kelly is clearly the better player, much better QB.
Reminds me of last year when Dabo wouldn't pull the plug on 3 and out Stoudt. Cupcakes out of the way, time to make the move

piles on. Perhaps Bryant isn't ready to handle the full load (bigger playbook etc) yet?

I'm not really the type to make up scenarios that the coaches haven't talked about, just going off of what I've seen.
I think the coaches have actually talked about how Kelly has done a great job picking up the play book. So I'm not gonna put something out there that I have no idea is true or not, don't understand why you said that.
It's time, move Nick out of the way. Learn from your mistakes

knowing the playbook and executing the playbook.......

are totally different things
just like cole stoudt "knew the playbook" better than DW4 the first 3 games last year.
the talent difference b/w scheussler and bryant is obvious on the field just like last year b/w watson and stoudt.
i don't care about seniority........play the better player.
it is refreshing however that we're talking about the backup QB "controversy" this year instead of the starter.

appears Dabo was right. Why should we think he's wrong now? If KB earns it, he'll be it

Just saying. If Bryant had been there, people may have been saying him then instead of Schuessler.

Dabo was wrong about starting Stoudt over Watson--#4 should've started from the first snap of the season and it was obvious after his first series at UGA that he should'be been the starter.
Yes, he was right about SToudt over Schuess, but...really, for a while last year that was a razor thin margin as well, because Cole was just not playing well and/or hurt.
Bryant will give us a better shot to pull of a W if DW gets hurt--have to believe Dabo and staff know that as well...it's been fairly obvious. If nothing else, he's dangerous running the ball...

They sure could have used Golston if for nothing than a backup now. Don't let QBs with experience transfer unless you have five or six.

Doubt it.had DW not been hurt last Spring

he might have won the starting job over Cole. Amazing how Keyboard Warriors always know more than the coaches.
As to the thread, at this point in time, Nick is the best suited for the back up position. If Bryant is what we all think he is. he'll overtake that position by mid season.

Someone wanted Nick last year? Seriously? Wow - I missed those posts somehow. I was positively NOT in that group. Nick should not even be compared to Stoudt, as he is nowhere near as good as Stoudt. Nick is a scout team QB. That is all. Period.

If DW hadn't come back for the SC game

MANY wanted Schuessler over Stoudt. BTW, if DW God forbid were to go down, I think Bryant would play. But this week, if like last DW has to miss a play or series, I'd go with Nick. Let us all just pray we don't have to discuss any other starter than DW this year

We went through this argument last year with Cole until DW went down against UL.
That could have happened to us last year with Cole. Cole transfers to get a starting job. DW goes down and who do we have at the helm then, can you say Nick?
ND had the same situation in the Spring. Golston was dropped to 2nd and transferred, the new #1 guy broke his ankle and now they are working with their forth string QB to get him ready in case they have another injury at the position. Talk about screwing the pooch!

If Swag gets his act together then Dabo and Chad did him a favor and the parents need to send them a thank you letter. They should appreciate Dabo doing something no one had ever done for Swag, behave or else.
Personally, I think the kid just looked for refuge from discipline and found it in the SEC.

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't like that loyalty to a fault to the upperclassman last year, because Cole simply wasn't getting it done. I want the best guys on the field, and I don't care if they are Freshmen or a 5th year Seniors. Once the lead is secure, then put in the next best guys, and so on. Let's not play that game again this year where we play a guy who can't get it done in favor of one who can. In Stoudt's defense, maybe he was hurt some of the time, but all the more reason to move on. To Cole's credit, he did come back and play a great game against Oklahoma, and that let him leave on a high note, but playing him may have cost us the games against ugay, F$U and GT.

Maybe it wasn't loyalty.

Maybe Dabo was making the best of what he had to work with. Maybe Cole would have transferred to where he could be in a pro offense and start had Dabo not given him the starting job after the Spring game last year.
Maybe we'd have been playing Nick at backup last season and you guys might have been ready to tar and feather Dabo for letting our second string qb get off the hook.
Maybe the ND coach should have tried what Urban did when he wanted to move someone up in his lineup. Maybe that's how Dabo works too.
Where would we be now if Nick had decided to transfer for a second sting job somewhere else? What's the big deal, two qbs is enough, right?

Maybe, if a frog had a pistol, yada, yada, yada. I hate that Cole didn't perform up to expectations, but for whatever the reason, he didn't, until the OU game. Glad he came on there and did well, but not glad we didn't face the reality that CS didn't get it done against ugay and F$U. He was the next man up when DW went down, and that's OK, because it was necessary. He didn't look as good as DW in the other games where both guys played. I wish he had, and I really thought he would have gotten the job done in the first games, but he didn't.

In my opinion, I just don't think there is any way that Dabo could look you in the eye and say that Stoudt looked better than Watson in camp and should have started.
I don't see how he could say with a straight face for all those weeks that Cole was the clear starter. That defense last year was a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP defense, don't care what anyone says. I understand you can't predict injuries and Cole would have played regardless, but something is wrong with Dabo and Co. eye if they honestly felt Cole "gives the team the best chance to win" as Dabo said continuously.

Yeah I get that him getting hurt in the summer had something to do with it, but #### Stoudt was gonna start over Kelly and Watson. I don't think the shoulder was bothering him in the UGA game, but that's just my observation from watching him tear it up in his 2 series lol.
So unless I'm missing something, and wrong ab Dabo being loyal for no reason, yeah please "lower" yourself hahaha

For whatever reason they are going with Nick.
For the sake of conversation, if he were to transfer because Bryant got the nod who would be next? Tucker Israel? Is he redshirting?

Would have rather had Stoudt transfer and kept CK11. Part of his problem was he knew he was better than Stoudt, but couldn't move past him regardless of what he did. He did not handle it properly at all, but he is enough of a competitor to know he was better than Stoudt. Not a popular view, but just the way I see it.
