you don't know what you're talking about. The kid is going to be a great hitter. He was a freshman, makes great contact, and doesn't look for walks like the rest of the team. Save the post

Averaged 3.8 points per game on 40% shooting, and people here acted like we lost the next Michael Jordan.

Respectfully to both of you. It's a stretch argument to try and use their numbers, or lack thereof based off limited playing time. If anything, bad on coaches for not giving either more minutes/innings etc.
What hurts (at least for me) is when young talent that commit to Clemson that it's clear to most have vast untapped potential, and just need to mature. Both individuals I think will excel. Heck, may even beat us a la makuba in fb.
I would venture to say that most fans really hate to see any Clemson recruited hs players leave.

Exactly, that’s like saying if Ian Schieffelin transferred after his freshman year we wouldn’t have lost anything. He also scored 3 pts on 39.5% shooting that year, so clearly he wasn’t that good either. Nobody here knows how a player will develop, and if they did, they wouldn’t be posting on a fan site talking about the players. You give the guys with the best potential a shot, and see if they rise to the occasion.

Guessing he saw his job wasn’t guaranteed anymore. Just “maybe” it signals that Wideman is coming. Hate to lose the depth. The portal giveth and the portal taketh away.

I do agree are they unwilling to be patient and pay their dues. Curious to see how the portal era equates to playing in the minors and working their way up. I’d guess the lack of adversity has led to more turnover.

I don't know that that's accurate. I see this take a lot on here. The facts are that this type of environment fostered by the transfer portal opening up simply affords a kid the right to do so freely. Maybe they want to be closer to home. Maybe they are chasing another position , or some change in their own life makes it necessary. To say that a kid who battled all the way into a division one scholarship position is "soft" is not an on the nose statement , imo. They were tough enough to make it there over many thousands more who tried and failed. That sounds like a person who is pretty tough to me.

Right, he also got recruited over by incoming transfers. I’ve not seen any media members referring to Clavon as in infielder, which makes me think that the coaching staff view as an outfielder. If that’s true (and if Wideman and Dalley come back), he could potentially be 5th on depth chart (6th depending where McCladdie ends up).
Sophomore year is arguably the most important season for guys with serious draft aspirations, so I’m sure he wanted a more guaranteed starting role, which he will get I’m sure. While it stinks, there’s no reason to call him names and resort to bashing him. We will find out his motivations when he commits, and he may very well wanted more money, but nobody knows for sure at this point.

I’m almost 100% positive wideman doesn’t make it to campus. He’d be a fool to come to campus quite honestly (at least financially wise). Once you’re a senior and run out of eligibility you have no leverage and will get a tiny signing bonus. I’m talking 100’s of thousands in difference for some.

Agree, could be the difference in signing for $50k-$100K and 700-800K where he is slotted and the added bonus.
Same thing with Dalley IMO if he gets drafted he should go, what if he comes to CU and doesn't have a good year seeing ACC pitching? Goes from getting drafted to a UFA

Wideman is most likely gone. Dalley could use the boost. Since NIL is so opaque, who knows what they’re getting paid.

Dalley is a double edge sword. If he does great then, yes it's a boost. If he has an average season could hurt him

We most likely were not communicating with him, while we were signing portal guys. The game has changed. Young guys that are considered our future must be informed of future plans. Im betting this was a failure to communicate!😀

It's funny you have people complain about losing TP and Jones but also complain about not winning and/or losing immediately in the post season. You either going to be patient and lose a game or 2 waiting on guys like these 2 to develop or you are going to try and bring guys in to help you win immediately. I'm not saying one is right or wrong but you can't have it both ways. It'd be nice to have 35 Cam's or Caden's or Aidan's or Seth's or Phil's or Tyler's or Andy's or Kahlil's but that's not realistic. It's about patients. Are you more impatient about winning or developing?

I bought some TP yesterday. It was getting low at my house.
Good Grief. What's with initials? Most people don't know who you are talking about especially a baseball player on a football board. Just type the players name. You had me scared we lost a football recruit.

I honestly don't even care, with Cam and Listi gone, the entire offense needed a complete overhaul. Hopefully some of the FR and transfers step up as well, especially if Gaffney and Priest don't get it together. I still wish we'd hire a quality hitting coach. I'm more confident in next year's pitching than hitting.
