Sorry but heck no, do not cede that to them.

Lets say Clemson wins the "title" of whats leftover, you want that to be the 2nd tier title with their own league claiming the "National Championship"?

Each conference should earn its spots. This setup could leave out better teams.

If they were as good as they claim to be they wouldn't need guaranteed spots.

Premier Division:
Clemson
FSU
Miami
UNC
Notre Dame

Other Division:
Everyone Else

The regular season champion of the Premier Division is awarded a spot in the CFP.

The second place team in the Premier Division plays the first place team in the Other Division in Charlotte for a spot in the CFP.

The premier division plays a round robin and 4 cross over games. Notre Dame cannot qualify for one of the ACC’s two spots in the CFP unless they join the ACC in full. Notre Dame continues to play 5 ACC games a year in accordance with their current contract so long as they remain partial members.

Too many teams. Boring. Quit NCAA basketball as every team in America and the Confederacy gets in. Now football gets ruined more.

and the playoff becomes more of a crap shoot or roulette wheel and less about finding out who the best team is for the given year..because with each expansion, without consideration, your introducing many new variables..some known, some not...luck becomes a larger factor than it should-

.... are just steps heading to that finish line. I'm still confident, very confident, that Clemson and FSU will be in that SuperLeague. So, I'm not too concerned about these intermediary steps. By 2027 Clemson (and FSU) will be in the P2. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The SEC and Big just need to break away and do their own thing. We've seen media folks predict they would triple their media revenue. Go with four SEC and maybe four Big teams in a playoff and call it good. It's about money, anyway, so why share it with the little guys??

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's where they are going.

They are just working out the details of how big the SuperLeague will be.

Fox and ESPN will have a hughe sayso in that decision.

I haven't heard anybody say it will be less than 48 teams. I've heard virtually every number between 48 and 72.

The guys who understand the financial situation will make the decision. (What number maximizes the revenue to each of the schools?)

And I can't imagine any fans of teams outside of the SEC and B1G would watch a second of it. I surely won't.
