Just curious, who knows about this:

Aug 31, 2016, 12:50 PM

travel day is friday, so how protected is the hotel? Isn't this hard to keep a secret? Both our arrival there and our stay there, and even departure. Is it dedicated only to the team and no one else stays there? Surely it must be a security challenge, to keep Auburn whackos and general public from disrupting our players and coaches. And I'm assuming on the trip down there are escorts all the way, again to prevent the crazies from both sides from hindering the athletes.

And: Do they research for the best beds for high level athletes, some of them very heavy?

Always wondered about some of this.

I've hosted several football teams at my hotel. Security is not a concern and the hotel is open to whomever wants to make a reservation. They prefer the fans are here actually. We decorate, wear t-shirts, etc. Security is not a concern as hotels usually have on site security. And, no...we don't test out the individual beds to give the best bed to the best player. That would be silly. They do get a escort from the hotel to the game from our local highway patrol. The teams stay in a different town to be away from the action.

thanks for the info...

also shows how difficult communication is thru chatroom. I would never suggest favoring a player. My question was the quality of beds in general for the athletes as a whole. Some hotels might actually have higher quality beds than others. This might seem small, but it's not really, when you consider the worth of a good night's sleep.

They do site-inspections before signing any contract with the hotel and yes, they do usually sit on the bed and bounce around a little. Sorry if I misconstrued what you said. It is great fun hosting sports teams, cheerleaders, bands and such and the regular guests love it!

but I still wonder about "mole" fans/groups from the opposition potentially being there to stir up trouble.

Have you ever had the "mystery" fire alarm in the middle of the night when a football team is staying in your hotel? Have read of this happening to some pro teams in the past.

Nothing is worse than having to do ANYTHING on little or no sleep. (I speaketh from 8 years of rotating shift work early in my work career. And, yes, we had electric lights back then.)
