What do you think the scoop is with Wiggins? He is in the doghouse? Just not playing well enough and losing minutes? Would you be surprised if he wants back next season? Are you hearing anything? Thanks for any insight.

You mean you take him serious after some of his football posts?

I guess sometimes you just have to give him the benefit of the doubt right?

I take his knowledge of our basketball team and players seriously, but just not his football comments.

Yes he does troll quite often, but if you read his football comments based on the actual words and based on who wrote the words, where was he wrong?

She's wrong, in that, she does it to create division. Anyone can take numbers and facts, turn them in to word salads and use them to further an agenda no matter what their stance is. She does it to create turmoil. That's where she's wrong

This is pure speculation on my part.......
I think it could be that we are not distinctively better with him on the court this year, and he does not really fit on next year's roster. Transfers could throw a wrench into things. We are going to be loaded at the guard position next year and we have a athletic enough mix to play 3 guards.
Chauncey is not aggressive enough to play the 4, and you could argue that he may not be the best option at the 3 next year. He just hasn't cut it rebounding the ball. I would guess that some of our guards have better rebounding efficiency numbers than him. Del jones is a very good rebounding guard.
Chauncey has all the talent in the world, but he hasn't been consistent or aggressive enough.

I disagree. Chauncey is a Clemson guy. He is set to be the starter at the 4 next season with hopefully Dillion, Del and JZ if he can come back. Coach Brownell on numerous occasions has said that the team and staff has always felt they have 6 starters even when Dillon was coming off the bench. I think Chauncey is just getting adjusted to being the 6th man. I expect a big game in the next game or two. He will be fine.

Chauncey is fine. I view the move to sixth man as more about Dillon

and less about Chauncey. Dillon has been improving and gives us more quickness and defense on the perimeter.
Chauncey needs to be more than just a three point shooter. He needs to mix it up inside, rebound better, and play tough. Basically everything we have been hearing from Brad all year. Otherwise, he isn’t giving us starter quality play on a consistent basis.
We will need him in a game at some point the rest of the season. I believe he will be ready.
I don’t expect him to transfer, but it also wouldn’t surprise me in this era of college sports. Nobody saw Godfrey transferring until he did either.

What is concerning to me is that you know Brad has told him over and over that he has to be willing to mix it up and play more physically and he still goes out night after night playing with the same low level of energy. He has cost us numerous baskets this year loafing back on the defensive end. He has definitely lost confidence in his shot, but the way to get that back is by busting your tail on defense and help the team in other ways. It appears he is not willing to do that which is a shame. He is a player who could really help you in the post season.

In the wrong direction. Other players have stepped up their games the last month and half. He has not. Going forward, He has become a player that gets more time based on EFFORT first! Then coaches should leverage his skillset when we are foul trouble an/or match ups are favorable against the other team. As for next season, that is question after THIS season, that is the culture for college ball in general.

His minutes have gone down since he stopped starting.
Vs UVA, del jones got kore minutes than him. The game before, Heidbreder got more minutes than him. The game before that, myles foster got more minutes than him. He is 0-7 from the field in rhe last 2 games. I looked it up and del jones is averaging .1 more rebounds per 40 minutes played than chauncey. That is crazy. Hopefully he picks it up.

He seems lost out there sometimes, and when he is not overthinking the game, he flashes brilliance. I guess he has another year to get it together. But I would not be shocked if he felt he had a better chance to develop into an NBA prospect under a different staff, he has 1 year to get it together. He certainly has all of the tools.

Chauncey has the demeanor of an athlete who has very little confidence in his game. Additionally, he does not bring the effort that others on this team bring game after game.
He is tall, but he is not physically strong.
He's a decent midrange shooter and occasionally can drill a three, but really hasn't shown me much except for a few games.
I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves and frankly at his current level of contribution it won't matter much.

Adjustments are made for different reasons and with different results. This change was made the week Chauncey had the flu and we found the 3-guard lineup worked well at this point in the season. He's still averaging 24 minutes and just under 9 points a game.
