New Story: Dabo: Losing isn't a habit, but cough syrup is a good thing

Dabo: Losing isn't a habit, but cough syrup is a good thing

Dabo Swinney was shocked when he noticed that only eight or nine of Clemson’s players stuck around long enough to sing the alma mater following Saturday’s loss to Pitt. It didn’t take him long to realize the reason – he has a young football team that hasn’t had to deal with losing, much less losing at home and they didn’t know how to respond. It's a lesson learned, and one he hopes they learn. Full Story »

I feel sorry for Wake because I think this week's loss is going to wake a sleeping Tiger. Clemson rolls over Wake 49-13 and sets eyes on dismantling the coots.

I hope you are right but the boneheaded TOs have been going on all season.
What makes you think it will stop now?

Regarding the turnovers, what kind of medicine are they taking for that?

I think working on run blocking this week would cure a lot of ailments.

I agree. pitiful we couldn't gain 1 yard in two tries. I don't get our o-line. They pass block like pros and run block like pee-wees.

run blocking you people are stupid it came down to our defense giving up pass interference calls on 3 rd and long the last PI was BS but the other 4 were not. I t was FSU did to stay in the game. everybody is going to be doing it now drop and fling ball to reciever 90% chance for a first down either a catch or a PI and sometimes both. We better start playing Zone coverage in the back end. Our DB play sucks 3 of them should of been picks our DB play is weak really weak and has been! money says we have a new DB coach next year.

630 yrds of offense and 42 points should win you a game

Any old fart can handle the good times...LOL

Man I love Dabo.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I LOL'd too.

Nov 14, 2016, 12:09 PM

Speaking of farting... Time for the O'line to stop farting around and start opening some holes.

I say keep farting around if that produces 630yrds of offense.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Another opinion, for what it's worth

Nov 14, 2016, 9:58 AM

Been saying for sometime, that our strengh on offense is in the receivers.
But, with that said. we still need to run the FB. And that begins with the
OL- Not sure it's all coaching, but there still needs to be some shake-ups
there. I think Pollard will learn and grow at RT, but I would like to see
big John Simpson get some opportunities too, j/s.

Anyways, moving forward...
like Dabo said....flush it-the loss.
And move on!!

John Simpson may have had more snaps this past game than

all season.

That said, nothing changed. Teams are forcing us to run by loading the box. Deshaun checked out of 20+ running plays into a pass b/c of what the defense was doing on Saturday.

Obviously this has been said but a play action pass right there nets a first down on that 3/1. Heck they probably have a screen in the play book that they know will get a yard. Got to BYOG in that situation. Clemson had already thrown for about 600 yards and Pitt was going to be crammed in the box. Of course hindsight is 20/20.

Dabo got bull headed and wanted to show who had the bigger D!K the timing was way off on both those runs play there was to much gap between the running backs and blockers

The announcers had made a point of how Clemson had 32 consecutive first downs via the pass. A little surprised Dabo didn't stick with the successful formula. Still don't like the Tiger o-line's run blocking performance. Gallman's totals were 18-36-3, which is one of the weirdest rushing lines I've ever seen.
