of professional athletes? The above two athletes are set for life financially so why demand more? I have no doubt that agents are involved and putting thoughts in their heads. I think Zion has also been influenced by his step father…a former Clemson player. They did a big, shocking, about face on signing day. Duke bought the father in law! Next, explain why Jimmy Butler is demanding a seperate plane to travel to games. I have not watched an NBA game in years. “Double dribbling and walking” have been ignored/eliminated years ago. Just expressing an opinion.

Players own the NBA. Owners gave up power a long time ago.

The NBA is going to have to shorten the season by 20 games. Stop making teams play back to back nights then maybe you will stop having the top guys taking off 25% of the season for pinkie bruises.

To me it is sort of like "if a tree falls in the woods, and no one is there to hear it, does it really make a sound?" I don't care a wit about pro sports, so this makes no sound to me. For those that do care, I wonder why. These folks don't care anything about the fans, the game, the quality of the product they put out, or even the team they play for. Why would the average fan care about them? Just my opinion.

Williamson better hit weight, body fat and games played goals or he'll not get paid but a miserly guaranteed $7.9 million next year. The Pelicans won't be obligated to pay his full $39.4 million salary per the contact requirements.

I honestly don't know a single person that watches or likes NBA. I have friends that like NFL, MLS, College football, softbsll, MLB, Nascar, bass fishing, basically every common American sport except NBA. Where are these fans or where do they come from? It had to be a major city phenomenon? It definitely isn't Southern, Iowan, Alaskan, or other areas I hang out.

Love everything but the NBA. That game out of all of the sports has changed the most and sadly from my point of view it has been for the worse.

The NBA is honestly stupid at this point and i'm not an anti NBA person. I watched the NBA heavily from late 80's until around 2014. I mainly gave up about ten years ago or so, i watched about 2 NBA final series since then but no regular season games.
This is why 1. No rivalries what so ever, opposite teams players laughing together 10 seconds after game ends even if nba finals
2. no passion when is the last time you saw a guy on a replay crash into the media sideline or crowd......hardly ever even in playoffs.
3. no creative schemes, very few creative players outside of the superstars no notable niche players like old days
4. most teams are like pick up games no real bonds, no coaching, timeouts are people just standing looking the other way
5. overpaid salaries for the average player, players have learned to throw fit if they want out of a team......how professional of them......
6. boring, players fake injuries to rest themselves for a future that never really matearilizes for most.......delusional....always claiming they are "thinking about there future" when trying to excuse sitting out or not gutting out mid injuries......no sense of team....no real will to win......never best version of themselves..........bland repetitive cliches "building my brand".........delusion......average players think they are mega celebs and "world is watching" when in reality most unaware who they are.
7. did i mention boring? and cringy espn over hype......terrible anouncers....terrible post and pre game host.....lame dying product

I watched Cleveland versus Oklahoma City last week and it was a great game played at a high level by the two best teams this season.
You definitely won’t get that every night and the camaraderie between teams is not what my generation is used to.
Kobe (RIP) is the last of the players with that killer mindset…yeah I miss it.
There are way too many NBA and MLB games but we as a society HAVE TO BE ENTERTAINED! And ESPN etc has to have content. Older guys cannot keep the pace of practice and games…they wear down.
I personally do not like seven game series in the NBA or MLB…you don’t need that many games to declare a victor.

Inside the NBA with Shaq, Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson is good TV. It might actually be the best thing related to the NBA right now.
I agree. Shaq and Barkley going at it is pretty funny.

So if you haven't watched in 10 years, what makes you qualified to speak on the current product?

Jimmy wants is seeking a trade but Pat Riley isn't willing to part ways with him. So he and the heat are going back and forth right now.

Pat Riley was the coach of the Knicks the last time I watched an NBA game, had no clue he was even still alive.
No idea how ESPN can pay the NBA what they do for tv rights. Like another poster said, I know no one that watches even the playoffs , much less an early January game in which supposedly start players can no longer make it through 82 games . It’s sounds like 99% of the players today couldn’t sniff the stars of the 80’s and 90’s. Even the All-Star game weekend used to be must see tv back in that era

Boston vs Lakers
Chicago vs Detroit
Those used to be must see games back in the day!
Could not tell you who all is in the NBA these days besides LeBron. Bring Jordan, Pippen, Magic and Bird back and I might tune in. Rumor is ratings are not good, but have not done my own research to say that is indeed true or false.

The NBA is filled with a bunch of over-paid, under-educated malcontents...

which is one of the reason I stopped watching or caring decades ago. If the league folded tomorrow and completely ceased to exist, I wouldn't notice.

plant for one week, at $5 an hour. A whole week of cutting up animal guts, and worse. At the end of that week, they would never again complain about their multimillion dollar contracts.
