Maybe he doesn't wanna coach in college anymore I wouldn't blame him if he didn't. He's been in the NFL for one under a 77 year old DC with 56 years experience and the number one D in the league. I'm guessing he's gonna learn as much as he can from Wade Phillips and then take over for him in a year ot two.

I think Jim Leonard would have been a great hire. Initially he was my number one want for DC.

In hindsight, I think Dabo made the right hire. Allen keeps the same base defense and can use the talent we have immediately the way he would want to. Leonard would be a transition over time, and who honestly knows how long he would have been here. Allen also talked so much about family being his reason. If I remember correctly, he has a daughter in Greenville and another in Charlotte. Going to be hard to move Grandma away from her grandbabies once she’s used to that life.

In Dabo's comments at the Tom Allen intro, didn't he say all of the candidates he considered were college coaches?

Regardless, I think we got the right guy for Clemson football!
