Agree. Never understood the RB rotation. Love Mafah and I get riding with him. But there's a difference between riding with him and abusing him.

Why they didn't get more snaps to strengthen what was behind Mafah is the question??

I know there was a couple of close games but it could have been made better so there isn't hardly any drop off....and nobody is running around with their head cut off......if they would have got more comfortable with the offense and plays.

I used to do it in a video game back in the day...why can't they do it in real life. 🤨🤨🤨🤔🤔

Position coach gets his guys ready to play and decides who’s ready.

So were the backups not ready during the season especially when Mafah was playing hurt or just the staff being super conservative.

Definitely a mystery.

It was obvious that our coaches were intent in grooming Jay Haines as the #2 RB, and accepted the risk that Haines might get hurt (and thus not able to fulfill the role of being Mafah’s backup) and rejected the choice of spreading around the limited available snaps to non-Mafah RBs (which might have led to no one among the non-Mafah RBs getting enough live action experience to ‘be the man’ if Mafah became unable to perform as needed.

When Jay Haines tore his ACL in the SMU game, the coaches knew the ‘all-in on Jay Haines as #2 RB’ gamble had failed.

It’s too bad that we had to depend in the TX game on either the limited-ability Termite Jr option or the not-enough-game-experience Jarvis Green option. Adam Randall and Eziomume were ‘break glass only in the case of emergency’ guys.

So it’s on to prepping for 2025 season. This time, several RBs will be given the #1-A, #1-B, #1-C, and #2 priorities during Spring and preseason practices.

I would say it is pretty telling when the coaching staff tried converting a wr to play rb rather than next man up

I really enjoyed his high school highlights. He was electric. I hoped he’d be able to bring a spark to the offense at some point in his career.

That likely was a set play for those personnel. Patt-Henry was in too.
