Jags Travon Walker -- 2023 #1 PIck

All in on Jags with Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne and HC Pederson. Still not a fan of the #1 pick based on 2021 Jags Defense holding QB Josh Allen and Bills to 6 points late last season. My draft take was TL16 needed much better blocking, and if Jags did not like top draft OL prospects, opportunities for trading for a young All-Pro OL could have been considered.

All that said, let's face it, Jags really got the job done this season. Outstanding improvement! Props to HC Pederson, TL16, TE1 and the entire team for strong finish.

As for Travon Walker, who seems like a quality young man, will he be one of the top defensive players in NFL in 2-3 years? It's All-Pro or bust when you're drafted #1.

They really need more OL help.

Travis didn’t get as many snaps last night as I thought he would. I don’t believe he played very much in the fourth quarter. Wonder why the limit his plays?

Followed Walker closely throughout the year. He was not a difference maker at UGA but was drafted 1 based on unbelievable combine numbers. Would disappear at times and not even be on the field. Showed flashes of the talent at times but in total the numbers did not add up. Took Dexter Lawrence 3 years to fully develop - he was questioned as being a bust as well a year 1. Hope Walker can get it turned around but something is missing at this point.

Well it must have helped to take Walker since the Jags won 3 games last year and this year made the 2nd round of the Playoffs.

They went out and got one of the best OL on the market in BS

and there wasn't an OT in the draft worth the top pick. There also wasn't a franchise QB so n obody wanted to trade up with them. Walker did pretty good growing into his new role, he can OLB or DE depending on the alignment and he was playing really well before he got hurt...I think Baalke has done a pretty good job of acquiring talent there, he also hit on Devin Lloyd in the first round, that's 4 for 4 in the 1st round in the past two years. They are a young team, but they are talented and another good draft will solidify their status as King of the AFC South. They need another interior OL, another CB to start opposite Tyson,a disruptive DT to pair with Big Roy, and a nickel corner. Their S are good, their LBs are really good and their DL is pretty solid. They were 2 bad turnovers from making the AFC Championship game

He wasn't very impressive but it sometimes takes Dlinemen a year or two to figure things out.
