to decrease capacity from 10,000 to 8500. It is a dumb move. With a decent team, fans will come.

It's sends a bad message to downsize.

We need to go to 12,000.
We need to say, we plan to improve basketball to the point more people will want to attend.
To downsize is to admit failure.

The same reason he was instrumental in getting GT on probation. Smarter move would be to put students closer to the court....... pathetic showing on TV. Simply embarrassing with the amount of empty seats.

Good move. Scarcity is an often unused motivator.

When you downsize. Lot of schools putting in new arenas are doing this. It's a good move to decrease by a small number.

D-Rad comes from GT. Expectations are low over there. A huge difference in that Athletic Department and our is that ours isn't broke --- yet.

If it so important that we have a LARGER arena why are we not coming close to filling up the old one? Show your support NOW. The expansion has not begun as yet. I am convinced that the students do not care about basketball. A shame. I never missed a single game during my stay at Clemson and we were never a good team. BB deserves a LOT more than he is getting.

I agree, and even though I was a FB player, I went to every home BB game my entire 4 years at Clemson. Granted we were pretty mediocre then, but I sure did get to see a lot of top quality players on the floor at Littlejohn, and we played up to the competition most of the time. Very exciting games, even when we lost. I've been back to a few games since then, and I still saw some great BB even when we lost. Kids and fans are missing out when they don't attend, IMO.

The income from luxury type seating is greater than general admission seating. That and it creates more opportunity for amenities the coaching staffs desire without increasing the footprint of the building.

I can count on one hand the times that LJ was filled to capacity. We had some pretty good teams during some of those years. It's embarrassing to have so many empty seats, not only for TV, but for recruiting reasons.

I think we should stay around 10k.... nothing more than that though.
We do not need a white whale like they have in Columbia.
I said all along we need a 10k seat arena with luxury boxes for the big money folks to get them away from the floor allowing students back into thse seats. Spend whatever money you would have spent on an 18k facility on making player amenities top notch and as good as anyone else in the country.

Students back under the goal like it used to be. They're way to far back now and it's not the same intimidating atmosphere. We used to be like 8 feet away from the baseline and it made a difference when it was rocking...plus it looks better on tv.
