But that's what travel ball and all the extra camps do to a lot of these kids now. I have a friend who's an orthopedic surgeon and the amount of kids getting major surgeries has gotten out of control the past 15-20 years. I'm not saying travel ball doesn't have it's merits, but parents need to stop drinking the Kool Aid that if Johnny misses a little time he's going to "fall behind" and never got a scholarship.
