I agree....while I've enjoyed this victory immensely but it's over. NC State is more than capable of pulling an upset. They have everything to gain and nothing to lose. We, on the other hand, have little to gain and everything to lose. We as a fan base on a message forum can afford to cocky but this team can't. Stay classy Tigers, stay humble but proud and focused. Beat the pack.

This team concerns me more than Miami or others. I was there in '87 when NCSt got out to a 30-halftime lead. Then we came back to make it 30-28. Rodney Williams threw at least two passes in a row to Tracy Johnson to get a first. Johnson dropped both. Game over. This team has a history of upsetting the Tigers.

Some of the current coaches weren't even out of elementary school in '87. Relax!

I was at that one. #### sheridan did pretty well against coach ford-hated that! this team is appearing to be different though. the crowd up there will be a factor to start but minimal -zero turnovers , win the line play and the Tigers do good things and put the pack away.

One of the most memorable games in Clemson football history

I was not at the game, but listened to it on the radio (yes, in the '80's there were games that were not televised). It was a home game. Clemson was a heavy favorite. I was in shock, as I'm sure all the Clemson fans were, that NC State led 30-0 at half time. Teams just didn't score that many points in a game in that era, much less in a half. Simply put, the Tigers were getting their butts kicked badly. That's why he announcers were is shock (and said so) that none of the Clemson fans left at half time. They were all there for the second half. And, they were in full roar throughout the second half, pulling for the Tigers to make the big comeback. It was a great second half in which the Tigers dominated and the crowd roared its approval. Unfortunately, the comeback fell short and the Tigers lost 30-28. Never more proud of our team or our fans than that day. Yet another example of what makes Clemson a special place.

Okay, you're right. I just used a crappy cliche' to try and say, we have a heck of a lot more to lose that NC State does because I believe we do.

Nothing to gain? SO understated. We have EVERYTHING TO GAIN!!!! We lose to this team, our playoff hopes are done, and that "word" comes back in hoards!!!!! Do I think we lose to state? Not even a little bit. However, you and I arent the ones out there doing the hitting and throwing the passes. Thank God its in the hands of the players and coaches. We seem to have developed the knack of NOT overlooking anyone. The old proverbial "one game at a time" is being realized more and more by this team.
I dont think we will score 58 but it wouldnt surprise me to shut them out as well. We did it last year, so we know it can be done. Brissett isnt the passer Kaaya is, but they do have a pretty good RB that has put up numbers against bad defenses.
