about Streeter and Wes.
Do we have an offensive identity?
Is there defensive intensity?
I'm not sure having 2 1st time coordinators at the same time is good.

I just don’t understand why Dabo would take a risk on them when plenty of other coordinators would’ve been lining up to apply for the positions. Unfortunately, they weren’t truly open because Dabo didn’t consider anyone else.
I think that was a big mistake.

Dabo chooses to have coworkers that he likes and fit the culture above all else.

Yes, he does.

He also likes things done his way rather than butting heads with a OC like Chad Morris so he likes coordinators who he has trained to do things his way. All craftsmen are like that. They love experience but they retrain most of the guys they hire.

Your description makes Dabo sound like a control freak.

If that’s truly how he is, that’s not good because elite teams tend to have assistants who are highly qualified allowed to do their jobs.
Hiring inexperienced coaches who are yes men is how an elite team becomes relegated to a fixture in lower tier bowls.

He wants things done a certain way for sure.

But he has shown a willingness to consistently hire assistants from the outside with significant experience relative to their job.
Dabo has not shown a willingness to consistently hire from outside the program, nor does he seem to prioritize relevant experience.

And Saban has shown a real propensity to fire those guys if they don’t do exactly what he wants. Kiffin?

The coordinators are not the problem. The truth is, the teams doesn't have the same talent as before. That's the problem.

Lol, nope. The talent argument won’t work this season.

We have the horses to get it done this season.
Any shortfalls are a reflection of coaching. Ex. You can’t say we don’t have the talent at WR without asking why our WR’s have shown zero development or improvement under Grisham. You can’t say our OL is a weak link without asking why we’ve said the same thing for the better part of a decade-plus.
This could be amongst our best defenses of all time, talent wise.

You can as k him in your next 1:1. Until then, he will run his team that has been to all but one CFP and let you comment on an anonymous message board.

I'm very concerned about NC ST and Fla ST. We're not going to be able to overpower those teams on talent alone like we've done so far. We're going to need coaching and adjustments, and so far, it doesn't look like we have that.

Streeter has been a coordinator before. Poor O-line play and receivers with the dropsies make it hard to get any kind of identity.
As far as the D goes, he was given the keys to a Ferrari, too bad he’s only got his learners permit.

Hire new ones like all programs do. People are just questioning who was hired.

'a cheerleader,' for a coach was going to work out. No disrespect to Frank Howard or Danny Ford but that guy became the best coach Clemson has ever had on the field in success, character and management.
I just wonder if you were part of the gang 'Dumpers on Dabo,' back then.

People do have strong opinions though. Yours seems to be that Clemson football is perfect and Dabo can do no wrong.

No one but you has said that. Haven’t met the perfect program or person yet. We all have concerns but a lot of us are still supportive and hopeful. You on the other hand already have us “probably out of the playoffs”. And it really does seem sometimes like you would derive some measure of satisfaction from that outcome if it were to happen.

So far, Street is a bust. Wes has looked OK. I honestly wish Dabo had raided the NFl for coordinators. I think Dabo is about to hit the drought Saban hit. In that drought, Saban reconciled to the fact that he had to do what it took to win, not do what he had always done. He started bringing in top talent on the offensive coaching staff. Kirbys UGA staff is insane.

The offense seems like more of the same. Enough to beat most teams, but will be very challenged to put up points on good teams. If Williams and Randall step up I feel really good with those 2 and Collins getting allot of reps and this offense taking the next step.
Defensively a poor performance last week, but this week we seemed to have learned how to defend the screen game. You cannot draw anything from the defensive performance last night. We were playing 2nd and 3rd stringers all over the place. Loved that we got our young gun corners some valuable work. This is going to pay off for sure.

You will have your answer in the next two weeks. I think the jury is still out. Clemson almost always starts slow, plays a ton of kids in the first few games against inferior opponents. Just look at the scores of some of our great team! If we are going to win the conference the next two weeks are crucial.
