It's amazing how blind some of this board is
Sep 6, 2016, 12:15 AM

We played a poor offensive team the other night and that was fortunate. Yes they had a solid D but we made it far worse by performing so badly on O. With so many returning offensive players, we did not play well. We cannot play that way and win a championship. It's silly to sit here and believe different. Be mad a pitch a fit all you like but the truth Is truth.
I really hope our team stops patting itself on the back for lofty expectations and goes out and performs. Make fun all you like but if we mess around and drop 3 games this season for playing that way, it won't be so funny.
I hope Dabo gets it fixed and starts kicking Fg's. The interviews I have seen of him talking about that, his body language showed he was uncomfortable. He knew he screwed up.

Unfortunately I'm gonna have to agree with the Coot. F$U looked through part tonight and Clemson didn't on Saturday. Clemson has a ways to go if we wanna come out of Doak with the W.

So how do you explain the last 5 years with double digit wins? How do you explain last year run to the championship? We didn't look the best down the stretch yet we took Alabama to the wire. What about the wins against LSU and OSU? Dabo and this coaching staff are proven winners. Watson is a proven winner. Stop overacting and enjoy the ride. ??

Any body with half a football IQ could see we were giving up too many big plays on D last year and our special teams were not doing well. And guess what, it cost us a national title.

I sure hope the team can put this crap behind them, because the fans can't seem to. Dabo has spoiled us with success. This is the best time in my lifetime for Clemson football, but the spoiled brats are focusing on the negative and talking championship in WEEK 1!!!

You have no idea about anything. I still think UT wins the East.
Week 1 is meaningless. Coots beat UNC last year. Meant zero.

Eye...if you had the football savvy you purport to have, you'd see how close the game was to being blowout. Stick to your rhetoric, though...

This is the same tired crap you said all last season.

Everyone here knows that if Clemson loses 3 games that would be a disappointment. What makes you think that this team is patting themselves on their back? You assume that because they didn't perform up to your expectations in the first football game of the season, that they aren't giving their full effort. The truth is, we don't know how bad Auburn's offense is. We do know that Clemson's defense kept them in check. And we do know that Clemson won the game. You seem to be trying real hard to convince everyone else that Clemson doesn't stand a chance. Which is the same thing you did all last season and they fared pretty well.

My first post. Who is eye of the tiger? The season has started and we are undefeated. We beat a good SEC team and not the bottom of the conference. Give credit to defense for doing their jobs by giving up fewer points than offence scored giving us another victory. The last I checked we were number 2 in the nation. What about that is blinding? Not sure I understand you concern. That is a good start to the season.

I'll agree with the OP to a degree. If the defense had sputtered, that would have been growing pains- but just just about everybody on O played last year.
Think of the offense against Bama- then add in Cain and Williams and explain the regression. Teams with Freshmen QBs like Bama and FSU just shouldn't look that much better than ours in game 1. I don't know how you sugar coat-that.
We might get a whole lot better this year like we did after Louisville before but this kind of talent with this much experience should have been much better than they were.

vs Auburn and I sure as heck don't think anyone would say we'd win a national title if our O played like that the rest of the season.
Sure we struggled and never seemed to click, but there sure as heck isn't any reason to panic. There's no reason to think this will be a trend. It was the opening game. We were a lil rusty. We won. Things will get better. We're too good for it not to be! We'll be fine. You don't have to be able to see to know that!

I guess you were blind last year at Louisville? One game doesn't show who your team is. My team played a team that wanted to win , but they didn't. FSU played two face Kelly. And a terrible defense. GO TIGERS !!

The fact that they can play at about a C+ level and still win on the road in an environment like Auburn is very telling.

Fact Check:
Gallman Rushing - 123 yds Auburn as a team - 87 yds
Williams Rec'g - 174 yds Auburn as a team - 175 yds
Still not understanding all the doom and gloom. Were there mistakes? Of course, it was the first game of the season. Did DW4 have an off game? Yea by his standards ... and we still won.
We have things to clean up just like any other game.
The defense ... wow! Just wait until we're 100% healthy again.
