toy drive for kids. So far, 3 million dollars in donations have been received in 12 hours. If you're not able to donate just say a prayer for him and his family. His original goal for his fund raiser was just $2500 and he has now received $3.3 million! Damar would be proud if he knew the outpouring of support, he was getting from people he never met. When he wakes up and he survives this, the smile that we will have brought to his face will be an amazing story!

That's a lot of Toys. Hopefully some of that goes to other things like helping put food on the table for kids with a deadbeat parent for example.

**UPDATE: This fundraiser was initially established to support a toy drive for Damar’s community, sponsored by the Chasing M’s Foundation.
However, it has received renewed support in light of Damar’s current battle and we can’t thank all of you enough. Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us.
If you would like to show your support and contribute to Damar’s community initiatives and his current fight, this is the place to do so. This is the only current fund that is being used by the Hamlin Family.

Do they even have a website? As far as I can tell, it's run by him and members of his family and the only thing they seem to have done with it is that toy drive back in 2020. You're all free to do what you like with your money, but I hope it gets spent well if you choose to make a donation. There are also plenty of charities in your own communities with proven track records of helping people, and much more accountability and transparency than this GoFundMe, that would also appreciate it.

Let me ask you this...With this much publicity about this fundraiser along with the amount of money raised, do you not believe there is a lot of oversites?
Regardless, donations are from their heart. I can only hope the right thing is done. In this case, with this amount of money and attention, I feel certain the right thing will be done! Those who give, give from the heart. Those who give do so with the hope the right things will be done. In this case, I am 100% convinced the right thing will be done.

Usually, these things also have to be registered with NFL Charities since the NFL can also be culpable if one of these isn't legit. The NFL certainly doesn't want the risk of a shady charity hurting their brand so I have to assume they stay on top of these pretty well, especially with all of the attention this one is getting right now.
