I’d say yes and no. Yes because- still somewhat rural and small.
No because- still somewhat rural and small.

I’d say no, it does not take a lot of effort, it just takes the right guy. Some people love the city. I don’t understand why, but I know it’s true. Some people prefer a more rural setting and Clemson sells itself to those people without anybody even needing to say a word.

& whether or not a traditional fb power exists in or near a player's home state; usually. Assuming you're referring to (high end 4's) & 5? types-

According to Dabo, players contact Clemson. Success both on and off the field is the best recruiting tool. That's not to say that all are that way by any means, just that it's much easier to recruit than in the past.

In saying "a lot" are you meaning more effort than other places? It takes a lot of effort to recruit period. That's why all of the top schools have huge recruiting budgets. If you are using "a lot" to mean more than other schools, I would say no at this time. Clemson's culture and their success put them on the final lists of nearly every undecided top player. It has not always been that way and sometime in the distant future it will likely change again. Maybe I will not see that day in my lifetime, because Championship season or not, I enjoy spending days that are not filled with games hearing about the next group of Clemson stars.

I say it all boils down to one thing; As a recruit(and to some extent his family) do you trust Dabo to do the right things with the recruit. So I'd say no, it doesn't take a lot of effort. Care to ask how much effort it requires to recruit a coot.(kind of rhymns, doesn't it) Well, I got it. Have a poster of Uncle Sam outside the Athletic Dept at the University of Cootlumbia pointing his finger and saying "I want you for the UofSC".

Schools wouldn't have massive recruiting budgets if it didn't take a lot of effort.
