Unlike your post...it was not a mediocre show. And yes, ABC would cancel a show that is making money. Particularly, when the show does not meet their standards for liberalism. Money making shows get cancelled all the time.

I liked the program and wish it wasn't canceled.
But, quit your whining. Every time things don't go your way you or people don't agree with you (e.g. ABC canceling a show) you are going to blame it on the liberals. Sounds like a child or Trump blaming everybody that don't agree with them/him. Grow up.

Quit whining? Thats funny considering this comes not long after Tim Allen was on Kimmel taking shots at the liberal left of Hollywood. Usually networks don't cancel their 3rd most watched scripted series behind only the pro-homosexual show of Modern Family and Grey's Anatomy. Last Man Standing did very well and especially for friday's where ABC tried to hide the show. All you have to do is look it up. If you don't think it had something to do with Tim Allen's politics then you may very well yourself, lean toward the left.

I don't think ABC owns the rights to that show. I think Fox did and they wanted to start sticking ABC with more of the production cost. The longer shows run the less interest they have and the more the actors and crew make until they eventually choke themselves out. Paying for advertizising to move the show to a better night is expensive and usually hemorrhages viewers anyway. I'm all for Tim Allen's views but this is more likely a case of none of the liberal boards members fighting to keep Tims show on the air rather than removing a profitable show because they disagree with them.

And wrong.... it was a 6 year contract where 20th agreed to foot the bill. ABC had rights to pick it up from 20th after 6 years. It wouldn't matter if 20th said they would continue to pay for it. 6 years was when ABC could drop the show without cause.

Lol , I was just trying to pull up a reference that might explain my not wanting to watch Tim Allen .
Now , it should be known that I don't watch ANY television shows on network TV ...so that's about my normal .
Sports , science programs , history/geographical and food/travel stuff .
The rest is just background noise ??

in the late 60's. CBS was dominating but the CEO didn't like the "hick" shows they were running and wanted to be more sophisticated.
So he had a #1 ratings show cancelled and more that were top 10..just because he found them to be silly and uncooth.
So he had Beverly Hillbilies, Petticoat Junction, Green Acres and Hogans Heroes canned, becausee he didn't like that hey appealed to the rural masses.
So this move isn't unprecedented.
