giving us virtually no chance of beating Duke tonight. There are some people saying that we will lose by 20 or more.
Duke is certainly a great team and program, but they aren’t invincible. They lost to Kentucky, who we beat.
We are a good team we can absolutely hang with them, despite having less talent than they do. Let’s give our coaches and players a chance. You never know what might happen. I think we will be ready.

Gonna have to keep the rebounding margin close, hit some 3s, and limit turnovers. We certainly have a great chance to win at home imo. Chase needs to be on.

This is the kind of game that our veteran leadership needs to pay off. We aren’t as talented as Duke, so we need to beat them with smarts.

Yup. I'm worried about the big man they have. We are going to have to be tough on the boards. Lahkin has to avoid fouling. We need him to play 30+ to have a chance. Hopefully out veteran guards can play a smart game. I believe we will win.

Much of your "disheartening" is the result of your being an ### in taking shots at Dabo when you were frustrated with fans not getting behind the basketball team. I have always been behind ALL CLEMSON teams, but your divisive comments have alienated many causing negative comments, which by the way , I disagree with. Just want you to understand that your actions are part of the problem also. Go Tigers!

Fair point Jk, and a lot of those same people were off the charts with wishcasting before the CFP game, a remember a ton of threads like: “I truly believe we will blow out Texas they are actually bad somehow!”
We have more than a punchers chance against Duke, though we are a reasonable underdog!

I'm as rabid as anyone here but the way we screwed around the other night its hard to feel confident. I especially feel that way after an already banged up Schieff took a face plant. I am amzed that didnt cause a concussion

It was one game. GT has been playing really well lately. They ended red hot Louisville’s winning streak last weekend, and they are playing better than their record indicates.
Plus, it was a weird game for us. Foul trouble for Lakhin, and we had a bad rebounding and shooting night.
Honestly, we were due a bad game after being very consistent overall for 20+ games this year. It’s college basketball, those games are going to happen.

I would love to be proven wrong tonight. That was not they type home game we should be losing. Beat them by 11 there. We didnt defend well early on and our rebounding was horrendous. BTW is your avatar Hatfield because I may make a dart board from it if so

Hope we find a miracle but I never expect good things from basketball. Too many years and too many scars. Not an anti Brownell statement just Clemson basketballs inclination to disappoint is too ingrained.

I think everyone knows there is a chance, but Duke is more talented, so they are just being honest. On a given day I think we can be at them. One problem we have is that they are very long and tall and they also have great depth. There is nothing disheartening about people thinking we need an upset to win. I think just about everyone knows it's possible, but just less than likely. Everyone will be watching and pulling for the Tigers. We will see what happens.

and likely better than we are, but I don’t think the difference is nearly as great as some here suggest.
We need to play a very good game to beat them, but they also need to play a very good game to beat us. I absolutely expect us to be competitive with them.

I have no issue predicting that our football team will win most of its games.

We have such a significant advantage over 90% of our opponents terms of funding, talent, history, and resources that most of our games are likely to be easy wins.
That’s good enough to put us in the upper echelon of the ACC and get us to at least 9-10 wins. Unfortunately, we haven’t been very good against top teams the last few years, but that doesn’t keep it from looking like we are still having good seasons on paper.
