Create an Office of Deed Theft, This is a real issue, nobody should be against this
requiring owners of street vendor licenses to be a street vendor. Currently, people are sitting on the licenses they have owned for decades and renting them for 12-20k a year, when the city charges 500a year. This is unchecked organised crime that has persisted for decades.
Allow tenants to be involved in the inspection process and have resources available when bad landlords don't maintain their properties
Freezing rents on subsidized housing means less taxpayer money is being taken by greedy landlords..
Create City-operated, non-profit grocery stores to bring down food costs.

My gut is that most everything he plans doesn't work, but I definitely commend him for trying and seeing the problems. I think that covered pre-lindergarten care alone would be a huge positive change.

The average profit margin on a grocery store is 2% so if you eliminate the profit component youre left with the other 98%. And thats assuming the govts gonna step in and run things as efficiently as these private businesses with decades of experience, which is unlikely to happen. He'd be better off promising everyone free iphones if he wanted to take on a business with ridiculous mark ups, not grocery stores. It does make the uninformed morons happy though so I guess it's good to know your voters.

Well, seeing as how they would not have to pay federal, state, property, or sales taxes, as well as crushing lease prices in NY, they would have an advantage.
Would this work in Dumpkin GA, no. Would it work in Manhattan, yes, if run effectively.
