the treatment of new, young, attractive, physically fit, straight rookie golfers in the LPGA? There were countless reports of hazing, etc from the old pros who were resistant of that new image that was presenting itself to the tour. Attendance and viewership staring ticking upwards as the evolution occurred.

I see jealousy not racism. There’s plenty of white women, and rookies, in the wnba not dealing with this.
As far as her getting “snubbed” from the Olympic team, there’s white women that made the team so I doubt that’s race related either.

I heard on a news report that a woman rookie basketball player has never played in the Olympics. And that Michael Jordan was the only rookie male that has played in the Olympics. True or not, I don't know...

I think that Christian Laatner played as a college player on an Olympic team filled with pros.

They are jealous. She isn't a top 25 player in the WNBA and she is getting treated like she is great, so they are jealous. What they fail to see is that she is bringing viewers which only helps them financially. They have no vision.

People want to watch her. Very few people want to watch the other players. The current players can't stand her. If she was black or lesbian they wouldn't have a problem with her.

she has 30-40 million in endorsements that no one else has especially no rookie, the average salary in the wnba is 100-150k. And yes the other part of it is she is middle america white and getting all the attention which makes some angry.

I watched some youtube videos of how she was getting roughed up with flagrant fouls that wasn't being called, or they were called as just a foul. IMPO, I think that she is being abused and the refs are basically allowing it by not calling the flagrant foul!!!

She is taking away from pride month which is the backbone of the WNBA sponsorship. Like it or not that is what it is.

She's getting the same treatment Pistol Pete got when he was a rookie in Atlanta...minus the knockdowns and shoves. She keeps filling it up the pettiness will all go away.
Nobody is playing any race card. The only ones knocking her down are chocolate milks.

Missing Olympic tryouts probably had as much to do with it as anything. Very limited experience to evaluate her and see how she will perform at the next level.
Much a do about nothing IMHO…

Angel Reese also got some “rookie love” in last night's game.

If Reese wasn't a basketball player, she'd be a change attendant at a laundromat. She's got that 450 SAT look.

I hadn't watched a single WNBA game ever until CC was drafted. I'm not unlike millions of others in that I have recently learned. While I concede that I am less educated that their 84 fans prior to this season, I have done enough research and have also been listening to the "tone" when employees of the WNBA speak of her and or the present season. I think the idea that there isn't an element of racism afoot is dangerous, misleading and commensurate of what seems to be an epidemic in our society today. CC is an easy target for disgruntled players for decades and her high-profile talent & endorsements threaten the insecure. However, given the overwhelming amount of racial discrimination (blacks and whites both) throughout social media, aka what we now call society, I'm convinced it's had a negative impact on CC's presence which I don't see has before limited WNBA viewership. The fact is that women playing basketball isn't that interesting or wasn't until the second coming of Pistol Pete in the form of a woman, made the scene. She just happens to be white.
Hate the game, not the player.
CC is amazing and my daughter has a hero I never thought could/would be. She's important and she hasn't done anything yet to make me feel otherwise.
