Seriously - if I have expendable cash to spend between gold or Bitcoin - I'm buying gold.

Absolutely on the food & ammo! Just saying as a short investment to raise quick capital with the Bitcoin because the price has dropped to such a low level. Was only wondering if there might be an opportunity to catch a big bounceback in the near term.

I don't trust Bitcoin. I would trust owning Google in a year over trusting Bitcoin.

From the article:
"On Sunday, the cryptocurrency lending platform Celsius Network announced that it was pausing all withdrawals and transfers between accounts in order to “honor, over time, withdrawal obligations.” Celsius, with roughly 1.7 million customers and more than $10 billion in assets, gave no indication in its announcement when it would allow users to access their funds."
I wonder if the founders of Celsius Network have already transferred that $10 billion in assets to Cayman banks while they catch a flight to their new homes in Panama...

Say no to Bitcoin.
Take TabbyPlague's advice to diversify away (not put it all in, but diversify away from) stocks.
For the near future, consider buying I-Bonds (Gov't guaranteed bonds that pay according to the CPI).
Also, stick your dough in money market funds ... as interest rates keep rising, stocks and bonds will continue to sink.
