Is FSU

Getting the same disrespect that Clemson used to get because of conference affiliation compared to what Michigan has done so far the season. Michigan hasn’t beaten a ranked team so far this season and has the 78th ranked SOS. Meanwhile FSU has 2 wins over ranked teams and 2 wins over recent national champs. Obviously Michigan has looked like the more dominant team but their schedule is a joke thus far. Just stating the facts, could care less about either program but makes no sense that Michigan is #2 and FSU #4.

FSU will get nothing but media darling treatment. After all, it's in Disney's home state.

The rankings right now are tailored to handle W-L scenarios

by FSU being 4. it is expected they will win out. By Michigan being 2, they can lose one and still make it in
rankings do not mean best team. rankings mean matchups views and scenario planning

Last year and the "what have you done lately" notion is a factor. Polls have nothing to with respect or disrespect but are based on the votes of the voters.

Maybe to a degree, but I don't think that's most of it . . .

First of all, they're #4, and that's nothing to sneeze at. There's only so many slots at the top even if they're all bluebloods. Not everyone can be #1. Being #4 below a few other top programs is inevitable for some team when several are still unbeaten. If they weren't #4, Michigan or OSU or someone else unbeaten would be.
Also, FSU is seeking a return to the elite ranks since their downturn almost 10 years ago. They look improved but not like world-beaters . . . so rightly they may be viewed with a slight bit of suspicion until they play someone better. Clemson didn't turn out to be a top-notch win for them, so until further notice they may not be viewed automatically as good as Michigan, UGA, OSU, etc. I think where they are is fair and no slight at all.

LOL. Recent national champs? Are you referring to 2018 Clemson and 2019 LSU? Is a single player who played significant snaps on either team still around?

Remember this is not the CFP committee poll. It doesn't matter.
I think the committee poll comes out next Tuesday. But I'm not sure.
