A program can be built much faster these with new tools (ie. NIL, Portal). He just hasn't used them all the way others are.
For example, a house used to take much longer to build. Now we have power tools, automatic nail guns, etc. Things are getting built much faster.
However, if he's going to insist on not using them they way other schools are, and putting on equal ground, then he's got to 100% on his approach of identifying the best coaches to 1) Recruit and 2) Develop. Then, also trust his process to get the best players that will stay.
Right now, the cracks are:
Coaching, and..
Recruiting
- A) Top level talent
- B) Under the radar talent identification.
- C) Portal usage to shore up shortages of talent.

The house is built on solid ground to Dabo's credit. It's the talent level of the coaches and players, and the portal transfer blockade that has hurt the property value of this great house.

that Dabo not saying it, doesn't mean he can't see or fix it?
Dabo has always been and will always be an uplifting presence not a detractor. He builds people up rather than tearing them down. A supportive not a destructive attitude if you will. He's a natural cheerleader for the team which is why you won't hear him tearing anyone down.
Frankly, I'm OK with that.

This is what needs to be said.
It’s giving me hope that “hungry Dabo” is coming back to take over the “complacent Dabo” that we’ve had for several years now.
But actions are louder than words. Staff and roster overhaul is necessary. It has to happen.
