Interesting facts about the upcoming series with BC

Each team only has one player from their respective state on the roster: redshirt freshman Haylee Whitsides for Clemson and senior Mia Bueno for BC. Between the two they have 2 career appearances. Each coming from Bueno going 0-2 as a pinch hitter this year. Might be the two teams with the least in-state production in the country.

Coach Rittman and BC's head coach Amy Kvilhaug started at their school the same year in 2020.

Rittman is 138 - 34 (.802)
Kvihaug is 58 - 85 (.406)

BC did knock off FSU 2-0 in 8 innings last year in Tallahassee. Though, their pitcher who threw that 1-hit complete-game shutout gem is pitching for Villanova for her 5th year.

Every Clemson starter would lead BC in average except for Maddie Moore (.305 to .307). Though, I have a feeling that will change over the weekend.

Boston College has only given up 10 HRs on the year. Clemson is coming in having hit 12 in their last 4 games.

BONUS FACT

I was curious if Oklahoma had any players from Oklahoma b/c of their California and transfer pipelines, and they also only have one. But, she's a major contributor. She's their starting LF the past two seasons in Rylie Boone.

I did, however, find a chink in the Sooners' armor. They're ranked 163rd in stolen bases per game. HA! Step your game up OU!

You don’t need to steal bases if every 3rd hit is a home run! Not a fan of them but darn, they are good.

At 163rd, that's .94 a game. Clemson is 22nd at 2.12. Steals per game is such a low number that the ranking looks worse than the actual numerical difference.

Also, since VaTech was brought up, they're tied with OU at .94 steals per game.

OK is #2 in the country in HRs with 57 so you don't need to take too many chances on the base paths with those kinds of power numbers. Interestingly enough, VA Tech leads the nation with 63 dingers so far.
