Inexcusable officiating mistake

Oct 7, 2012, 6:16 PM

Complaining about officiating is pretty useless I know, especially after a loss, so I guess if we are going to do it why not do it after a 16-point win? On our drive immediately following the safety, we were called for an ineligible man downfield on a first-down completion to Nuk. This call was 100% wrong! Nuk was on the line, the #2 receiver was off the ball, and Smith was lined up off the ball as a wing beside Sam Cooper who was on the ball. We had 4 receivers to that side. Cooper stayed in to pass protect, as he is covered up due to Nuk being on the ball. To the left side of our formation was a guard and a tackle. To the right was guard, tackle, tight end, and WR. Nuk, I'm guessing Jaron (without watching the tape) and Smith all went down field, all TOTALLY legal. Inexcusable! It was a first down that was negated, and 2 plays later we threw a pick (which was probably PI). Something about GT and questionable calls by the officials, but thankfully it did not hand them victory this time as it has before.

sounds complicated,

the only one that really got to me was a no call on pass interference on sam cooper that resulted in an interception, but he got mugged.

And the TV announcer thought it was a good call

Oct 7, 2012, 6:30 PM

Even after it wa replayed several times. He said it was a bang bang play. Then he said you could only see it in slow motion. Then he said it happened to quick, but it was probably PI, but still a good no call. OMG.

It was a bad no-call. It was PI. A good ref would have called it.

I don't know what his ties to gt are, but he sounded like Larry Munson calling a dawg game.

I didn't have much trouble seeing it in real time

I did. It's just a split-second too late...

but a great action shot.

If you took that: Did you see what the commotion was with the three people who had mini bottles? Whoever ratted them out is garbage unless there's some part of the story I'm missing.

I was watching through the camera and didn't feel like

Oct 7, 2012, 8:11 PM

taking the shot until I saw the PI. I started shooting as quick as I could.

Didn't know it was mini bottles. It was in on the row in front of me but on the other end so I had no clue. If I had to pick someone to tell it would have been the couple with their kids right next to the guy who got booted. I don't see the big deal with it either as long as they're not obnoxious.

Who was complaining about the people standing in the same place?

how about the pass interference that

Oct 7, 2012, 6:30 PM

resulted in Tech interception... It gave Tech the ball almost midfield and we were up only 10 points.

Clemson Soldier

Thanks, I was wondering about that call...

Oct 7, 2012, 7:24 PM

the only replay they showed at the game was a zoomed view of Tajh...so that was completely worthless.
