I Don't Have Pictures to Share - But I Will Offer a Father's Day Joke

Since it is Father's Day:
"Billy came home from college in tears. 'Mom, am I adopted?'
'Of course not,' his mother replied. 'What makes you ask such a thing?'
Billy showed her his genealogy DNA test results — he was no match for any of his relatives. But he was a strong match for a family living on the other side of city."
His mother was shocked as she called her husband. “Honey, Billy has done a DNA test, and...and...I don't what to say...but it says his DNA does not match ours.”
“Well, obviously!” the dad said.
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“It was your idea in the first place,” her husband said. “Remember that first night in the hospital when the baby did nothing but scream and cry and scream and cry – all night long? It went on and on. That’s when asked me to take him down the hall and change him. I’ve always thought I picked out a good one!”

My daughter came 2 months early on Easter Sunday. We had one lamazze class but she came before the second. Dr let me in the delivery room in scrubs so I was relieved. there was an interesting conversation when I asked for a refund on the classes. they didnt give refunds yet relented when they found out the baby already came.
She was in neonatal nursery for a month with no serious issus. She now has 3 of her own. They were all full term babies

In honor of both my parents. They were married for over 50 years when my Mom passed away in 2012. My Dad was lost without her. I was blessed to have my parents. I lost my Dad in 2019, and I miss them daily. Happy Fathers Day Dad!

Unfortunately, I never knew him, he died young. He was a lineman and electrocuted in 1958 when I was one year old. He and all four of his brothers were linemen. Good pay, but very dangerous work back then... before bucket trucks & OSHA & all the safety gear. They climbed poles with spiked boots and arm strength. All of my uncles had huge hands and Popeye forearms...
Served in the Pacific in WW2. Navy man with the "pig & rooster" tattoos on the top of his feet.

My Dad served in the Navy and the Coast Guard. He was almost 38 years old when I was born. By that time he was out of the service and working at the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he worked for 30 years. I was only 26 when he passed in 1989. Mom passed in 1995 when I was 32. Miss them both and really wish my kids could have known them. Mom was still alive when both kids were born but we didn’t live near home and they were 5 and 1 when she died so they only had a few short visits with her. They never met my Dad. The photo is very indicative of the way we grew up on Johns Island. I’m sitting on the gas tank of the tractor and my brother was behind the wheel. We both learned to drive that tractor when we were still small enough that we had to stand up out of the seat to push the clutch all the way in.

Grew up on a farm, jobs involving hard physical labor, military service, etc. At any point in their lives, they could still whup your azzz. Even when they were 65 and you were 35. I heard a kid ask one of uncles why he joined the Army during WW2. He said - #### I'd rather be shot at than pick cotton in August.
Also, it was good to see that I'm not the only one with mom genes. My dad was tall, dark and handsome... naturally, I took after my mom.

My dad left Clemson and went into the air force as an officer and left as a Lt Colonel. Was a man’s man and a true tiger until his death in 2001 at 90years old. I have pictures of me a Coach Frank Howard sitting on a motel bed when I was a kid when we were at a game and Coach came by to see dad. I was taught to pull for the tigers or sleep in the street as he told me. Needless to say my blood runs orange and always will god rest his soul. Love you POPS….

My dad JC Britt. He grew up the son of a WW2 Navy vet and a shrimper from Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born in 1939 , and his mother passed away during childbirth. Joined the Navy himself in 1957 , did basic in San Diego and school in Groton , CT. He was a great father and a superior husband to our mother. Miss him badly. Gone since 2007.

My dad was a pilot in WWII. He never saw action but crashed or was invovled in crashes of several planes that failed testing...obviously. Some testing he did was at first new planes coming off the lines and deliveries. Eventually women took alot of that load and he was tasked with bomb configurations, various weather tactics, and distance trials (how far and how many bombs). Mostly in the B17, but some in the B23. He told me the B23 was not exactly the best flying plane and had engine problems. After his last crash his sight for depth of field was not right and he moved to flight engineer. He was almost taken out in another crash at an airfield when the crashing plane crashed into the flightline. He served in the AirCorps and then in USAF (F101-Voodo master mechanic) and the ANG (tankers) until 1985. Ultimately he was just one of those dad's that was always there. He excelled in being present and accounted for. A great provider and family man.
