Seen us win the natty as a kid. Saw us win natty 2x as an adult. Boxes all checked on the bucket list. Clemson football is now only a casual interest and definitely won't be on my mind on my deathbed.

after retiring about 12 years ago was to return to work.

I find myself now at 77 as busy as I was before that blessed event, and in fact had to work yesterday. Although expecting a slow day due to all the ball games, it turned out to be so busy that I wasn't able to watch one minute of our game. Glimpsing at the score occasionally was not encouraging, but I had business to attend and had to merely accept the result.

My point is I've had to learn to temper our losses with appreciation for what the program has been, while wishing for the best with a keen realization that Clemson is not paying me one red cent for my insight nor longevity with our program. That's my reality.

Thus, I have to rely upon our staff, led by one Dabo Swinney, to do their jobs while I do mine, and that's also my reality. I despise losing...always have...but it happens to every single program in this nation and will continue to do so.
