I know he's back and all but haven't heard any details other than being an analyst and recruiter. Maybe they don't want to steal Riley's thunder. Info or thoughts please ...

Those are the details. The only other thing was that he wanted to take off the spring and start in the summer so perhaps that is why they aren't making a big deal about it right now so he can have some time and space with his family.

Yeah I think this was Riley's day and they did not want to delude that. Hopefully Scott's day will be coming later.

Analysts aren't allowed to directly recruit

or directly coach players and typically make $50k to $100k+; Scott was making $2mil as USF HC and over $1 mil as Clemson OC before he left. Would he be ok with all that? Plus the terms of his buyout with USF are vague and mostly unknown.

Jeff will be a recruiter and may be a QB or WR coach. I believe he will do whatever Dabo needs him to do.
At this point what we may need most is a WR recruiter. We have the guns we just need a couple more good targets. Jeff was trained in both fields, recruiting and WR position coach by one of the best WR coaches and one of the best recruiters around, Dabo. Jeff's talent in these positions is priceless.

Well said. Someone who can battle Hartline for stud receivers is definitely needed.

I really appreciate Jeff Scott.

I'm looking forward to his return. We need him to recruit and recruit wide receivers then train them. He is really good at both disciplines. I imagine there's a lot more he can do too.
I'm concerned about the pecking order now with two great OCs on the same staff. When I say concerned I really mean simply curious.
Whichever, however and whenever, the news of the last few days about staff changes is the most delightful to me since Venables came here to coach.

He’ll have a short leash for sure. He gets a pass after Lincoln left and left the cupboard bare, but he won’t get that normal 3-4 year grace period. Especially in today’s environment and OK being a “blue blood”.
