Im not trying to be critical of others education levels

but want a reasonable answer to my question. Most of the MAGA people I know personally are not college graduates or didn’t attend college at all and the people like me that are never Trumpers are college graduates and some with higher degrees. Why is that? I know lots of people that didn’t go to college that are very smart so I’m not dumping on them. I’m speaking about friends and family and others that are just acquaintances. I’m interested in what I’m seeing and hearing differently and what education level has to do with it. It’s truly baffling to me that what I see perfectly as a con man and others see as the savior of America.

Doubling down & tripling down on obvious incorrect statements

Either demonstrates the lack of intelligence, personal disorder or mental incompetence _ or a combination. Trump’s pretense of being all knowledgeable and always correct on every subject matter is simply bull ch!t and easily seen through. Also obvious are the glaring contradictions in statements and policies combined with the refusal to acknowledge earlier positions when there written and video records.
Educated professionals acknowledge mistakes, make corrections and move forward.

What you see is what the echo chamber wants you to see. And, of course, you buy in hook, line, and sinker.
Of course you are being critical of others' education levels - otherwise you wouldn't care. But it makes you feel superior so you like it.
It's been said here 1000 times. Most of us don't give a chit about Trump's ego, his namecalling, his locker room talk, etc. What we want is a return to common sense
- two genders - no women in men's sports - no boys in girls bathrooms or locker rooms - a government the country can afford - less bureaucracy, less waste, less corruption in the gov't - less gov't over reach, more freedom - school systems that listen to parents - a secure border with a reasonable immigration policy like the rest of the planet - less Wokeness - etc.
So I'll leave it to the liberal/commie sociologists, who will never write the truth, to tell you why people with 'less' education want these things.
It could be that more so called 'education' makes you dumber. Certainly, for the majority of liberal arts majors in the majority of public and private universities, more education gets you more woke.
With a PhD in engineering, I am in the top 1% of educated humans and understand that most Democrats do NOT understand science or critical thought as I do.
Maybe the world view of non-educated people is formed from living and working in reality - working with their hands, making machines run, moving dirt and paving roads, building your house, running small businesses that must have a budget and follow it, etc. These people know far more about the world than the elite, woke, snowflake Ivy League graduate who goes in the fetal position when Starbucks runs out out of Pumpkinspice Latte.

The echo chamber you're talking about
2

... is the opinion of half this country and virtually all of the rest of the free world. It's a diversification of news outlets all trending in that direction. It's a common opinion held among people who are capable of empathy and lifting up others who are down.
YOU though are stuck believing any and everything Trump says. You can't identify legitimate news sources and instead attack anything that dares criticize your Lord and Savior. You try to tell others what they should be doing without making any effort to understand their perspectives. You try to stand on some moral high ground with these statements and then in the next thread will condemn or wish ill will toward others because of who they vote for or what they look like. Just the other day you were arguing, "If black people would just blahblahblah, then ..."
Go #### yourself dude. You don't give a #### about other people. You just want whatever works out best for you, everyone else be ######.

and engineering classes are much harder than any of the other BS classes that they have to take.
Meanwhile the University is loaded up with worthless liberal arts majors because it pays to educate the masses.
The fact is that Clemson is a decent school but fairly easy to get in to. It happens to be the best engineering school in the State so most engineers go there to save money. I didn't apply anywhere else because there was nowhere else to go.

Generally, the higher education helps provide you with the tools to reason out things in the world. The evidence shows you are an exception to this. You want some laundry list of idiocy, but voted for a guy promising to end democracy in America.

Also elaborate on how record number of EOs support less government overreach, more freedom.
Does a reasonable immigration policy include compliance with judicial orders and judicial interpretation of existing laws?
Is less wokeness code for empower racism and misogyny?
Just not impressed with a litany of MAGA gibberish that has “obvious” contradictions to reality.

That's always the irony of these types of posts. You literally can't see how much your own worldview is formed from your echo chamber. You can't define "wokeness" yet want to see less of it. The word is just a placeholder for anything they tell you not to like.
You throw non-specific generalized beliefs like "less bureaucracy and less corruption" and "more freedom" which, again, means nothing when not backed up with anything specific. Is it common sense to do away with disease research? Or medical support for kids with cancer? Or the fact that DOGE is going to cost us money, or the fact that Trump is spending more, day to day, now than in nine of the last ten years. Where's the common sense? (This doesn't even bring up the corruption...)
When you look at the specific actions Trump and MAGA have and still want done, it undercuts the argument about any of this being "common sense" or any "sense" at all.

To think that someone isn't as intelligent as you are because they don't have an XYZ degree is foolish.
All the MAGAs in my neighborhood are all college educated and have degrees spanning numerous fields.
Some are just fed up with the government and if this shakes it up, so be it.

you're not an idiot. Beyond that, it means very little. Just shows you're capable of learning. Doesn't mean you're smart, intelligent, pragmatic, wise, or anything else.

personal/individual experiences. Period. There's dumb/stupid/etc., then there's ignorant. Most people are not dumb, or stupid. Those people are incapable of learning anything. But most people are simply ignorant, meaning they're capable of understanding things, but have not been exposed to those things and as such they lack knowledge about it.
I know many brilliant people who are ignorant of many things. Doesn't mean they're morons, dumb, or whatever, it just means their experiences are what they are, and NOT what they're not.
One thing I've learned in my job, and it carries over to many things in life, if you want the cooperation of people, you don't want them to see you as an expert, rather, they should see you as a teacher. Most people who are ignorant of things, will be paranoid, untrusting, and prone to bad decisions. If someone doesn't understand something, the natural human tendency is to recoil from whatever the subject or topic is, and this is where conspiracies gain traction. And America literally runs on ignorance, and specifically profiting from ignorance. It's why the richest country on Earth does not provide the most basic financial education to citizens in government-funded high schools.
Most people with the experience of financial knowledge, and how the economy works, will recoil at Trump's platform. Others, who do not know how the economy works, will embrace his rhetoric, because they do understand that part of his platform. And if you play the numbers, in America, then the con man will have ample wealth and opportunity, and that is Trump, real estate developers, credit card companies, payday loan stores, whatever thrive on.
If you live on a ranch in west Texas your whole life, you're likely going to be a conservative. You're going to value freedom, individualism, personal liberty, gun rights, and hate governemnt handouts. If you grew up in Harlem, and lived in Harlem your whole life, you're going to appreciate controls, laws, regulations, and governemnt programs. And you will likely be a liberal. NEITHER of these examples are bad or dumb people, but they are both ignorant of the life experiences of the other. The problem is when the liberal from Harlem and the rancher from texas both think their life experience, and beliefs, are best for others and everyone else. That's where the problems arise.

My tax dollars should go to people who made bad decisions with their college degree, I would be inclined to vote against such policies.
I mean, the idea that I should pay off other people’s debt offends me and I do have a college education (that I paid off).

Do you think your tax dollars should go to people who made bad financial and health decisions? Well it does. It’s called Medicaid and food stamps and also extensive Medicare expenses for those who didn’t take care of themselves and now have many chronic health conditions. I’m sure billionaires like Elonia and Trumpty don’t have to worry about that but many needy Americans do. I don’t care for my tax contributions going to pay for things that don’t benefit me but it’s just the way it is and always will be.

Interesting responses. My response is that I need not object to EVERY use of tax

Funds that are used to bail out bad decisions before I can object to this one. Second, the question was about why those who don’t have college degrees would be more pro-Trump. This platform (more so the pro-bail out from the Democrats than the anti-bail out of Trump) is an easy example of an absurd policy that would absolutely pull non-college educated people toward Trump.
Obviously there are dozens of reasons why the voting bases vote the way they do. This just seemed like an obvious distinction on platforms that fit in with the OP question.

I said I objected to government bailouts of people who have student debt.
And if we want to dive deeper into that, perhaps a different thread. The point of my post was to provide an example of why those with no college education might support Trump over the Democrats. I realized I offered my personal opinion and probably shouldn’t have.

correct answer on other examples of what you consider “bail outs”, my opinion on student debt bail outs is invalid. This is a common approach on the Politics Board (I have no doubt I’ve done it). I’m not interested in it. If we want to debate the validity of student debt bailouts that’s fine (again, probably separately from this thread) but I’m not going to provide a thesis on each use of government funds to pass a logical purity test.

On average, just a 4-year bachelor's will earn you an extra million in your career, and you will live 7 years longer. But I would say the mortality statistics are held back by the obligatory, "hey watch me do this", as in the last words of a guy who learned physics from coyote and road runner.

and I’ll post a paper on it.
Interestingly it’s this thoughtful observation of one surroundings that the vast majority of lefties do not do. They just are not programmed that way.
Instead they believe what they read that other people claim to believe. Can’t think for themselves. No Need to think because they already ‘know.’ Blah blah blah.
What’s a measure of intelligence? Who believes the same as what they perceive the largest group thinks? Thats how you commies think.
Do research and write multiple peer reviewed articles that contribute science/understanding to humanity. I’ve done that. Anyone else?
Raised kids absolutely grounded, polite, well rounded, and all w graduate degrees working and paying taxes. I’ve done that? I suspect some others have as well.
Have a 30+ year marriage still going strong. Is that a sign of some sort of intelligence? Seems so.
Full scholarship to ugrad college. Not bad. SATs > 1500 back when it was hard. Probably indicates some intelligence.
C-suite in a billion dollar corporation. Could be meaningful as to intelligence.
LOL

Anyone who has the stuff you listed doesn't act like that. You're almost as good of a liar as Keowee. Almost.

It can all be true and he can still be an idiot. There aren't many Trumpers with his background, but they do exist.

Women are generally more empathetic? OR maybe women don’t like rapists? OR women don’t like to be grabbed by the pu$$y without consent? Take your pick

Simple answer. They're stupid.

And I'm not talking about the people who simply voted for Trump because they thought he was a better choice. Even those people have exhibited critical thought and realize the problems with Trump and his movement.
The MAGAphiles--the ones who worship him like an NC_Tiger or a Keowee--are simply just stupid people. They show you that on this board. They can't ever admit Trump is wrong and they blindly defend #### that deep down they don't even believe. You're telling me someone who agrees with these tariffs and economic moves understands them? No, they're too stupid to get it, and they're weak-minded, too. NC_Tiger probably can't wipe his own ### without Trump telling him how to do it. Their only ideology is whatever Trump decides, because they are weak, effeminate men who need a strong man to give them hope.
I get it that you were trying to be gentle in this post but they should just be called what they are. Dumb and weak.

Wilb she’s a thespian compared to Trump. The audacity to call her “Cumala” when your cheating man ho and other unsavory adjectives is the savior of the Christian movement. That’s a hypocritical view at best and a cult member view at worst. 😏

I think NC Tiger answered the OP’s question when he provided (in this thread) his ten bullet points describing what Trumpers want from Trump.
This is the Trumpers platform. Super simple, easy to digest. Often binary and or based on zero sum logic.
Trump is not remarkably bright, but he is smart enough to deploy basic marketing.
About 10 years ago he identified his target market in the political arena. Simple and gullible are essential to the profile. He feeds them what they want to hear and they gobble it up.
Anybody with a shred common sense knew 40 years ago that Donald Trump didn’t care about other people. Bro is 100% narcissist con artist.
