Who cares. They should have joined a conference.

It’s about time they suffer for not being in a conference. Everybody knows that’s the only reason they have made the playoffs.

Based off the front page article, yes ND would still be on our schedule and it appears the ACC is willing (and has already discussed) helping ND with their schedule.

Im not sure what purpose it serves....

if the team has to get on a plane and go somewhere then its all the same whether you fly from Greenville to Raleigh or Greenville to Phoenix. If the worry is spreading the virus, its better to play the Gamecocks than Syracuse.

I’m struggling to understand the rationale as well. There are so many same state, cross conference rivals. Plus the weird ones like East Tn State can’t come to play Georgia in Athens, but the Volunteers can?

I think with FCS teams and mid-tier conferences (MAC, etc), there is a fear that they can't afford the amount of "rigorous" testing that the Power 5 conferences can and that is what is driving the conference-only deal.

Correct. P5 conferences want the ability to control...

...the testing/protocol environment and they can't do that with non-P5 OOC schools. Just from what I've read.

say we'll cover the cost of your testing prior to playing us and we will take that amount from you $800,000+ paycheck to play us...problem solved.

I saw a tweet from a SI writer that said he spoke with a Group of Five AD that pretty said, see ya court if they dont pay what's owed to them. Sadly, it will put some of those athletic depts 'out of business' or many of their programs.
