I've heard thru the old college football grapevine that former South Carolina DC Lorenzo Ward is headed to Clemson. I'm not sure what he will be doing on the staff, but I know he goes way back with Coach Swinney. I'm sure Clemson will release something once the paperwork and all is done.

If i remember correctly, he was last the DC at UTC, can't see him coming aboard as an advisor unless someone is planning on moving on soon.

In all seriousness, what does he bring to the table? I don't recall him being a great coach while at Usuck. Some say he was a great recruiter, but was that him or Spurrier cause when Spurrier decided to back off recruiting the talent went downhill fast and so did the team. I just don't see how this is an exciting hire.

Well there is this, "Ward played college football at the University of Alabama from 1986 to 1989." per wiki. And was a GA at Bama in 1991. But if you look at his overall coaching career, he has a pretty good pedigree as a DB coach with schools and players in NFL.

I’ll gladly take him as an analyst. I wish Dabo would have a bigger off field support staff. Former coordinators and head coaches. Like Cutcliffe, and Patterson.
