Lucky for us,the coaching staff gets it right more often than not. 15-2 pending the outcome of this one speaks volumes.

I will never understand bringing in a pitcher that throws the same stuff from the same side, after a team has seen it all day. I like my pitching changes to be a stark contrast to what you’ve seen for 3-4 at bats. Case in point, when we went to the sidearm righty, after Smith n Darden, he made Duke look silly. What do I know ? I’m just a All American Dixie youth coach. Lol

I think coach is getting everything set up for a late season run. He is using a lot of arms in different situations. That way, later on he will have confidence in certain parts of a game. He is changing pictures so often, that is the only reason that I can think of. Go tigers ....win the series tomorrow!

All depends on who is batting that next innng. If the pitcher who just mowed them down, mow down all righties and the next inning has two or more lefties and sucks against lefties you change. It’s all percentages

Limits on how many pitches a player can throw over time.

That's if the NCAA has limits on pitching.
He may be conserving the guy for next game or may have reach a legal limit of pitches. Pitcher have a personal ceiling too. I'm not tracking baseball anymore but pitcher management is one of the most important strategic factors of the game.
There's also personal matchup(s) between the batters and pitcher.
